Trek t-shirts

David49

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
Does anyone here ware their Star Trek t-shirts in public. The reason I was asking is because with the new movie out I have worn mine more than usual and have bought a few more. I have noticed that around here (Cincinnati) I am the only one I know of that dons one. I dont understand it. People around here are not afraid to put on Bungle shirts, sorry I meant Bengals football jersies but I never see any Trek stuff and I get out alot. Is there some rule out there I have not been informed of that Trek t-shirts are to never be worn in public?

I have a t-shirt with a cartoon Vulcan that says "Live Long and Prosper". I'll sometimes wear it in public, but not often. It's a great shirt to work out in, though.

Same deal with me. I wear my blue TOS t shirt to the gym. And the gold one i'm not even brave enough to wear around the house.

It's gennerally considered geeky, evem among many Trekkies. I don't myself. You'd be more likely to notice Stellers Fans in Cincinnati.

I am a hypocrite. I will never wear anything Trek, but I'd like my girlfriend to wear the red costume with the skirt. But only in the house. Fortunately, she doesn't want me to wear anything Trek, so it all comes together quite nicely.

I've worn an overtly Star Trek t-shirt to conventions -- over 15 years ago during the height of TNG. In high school, when Hard Rock cafe shirts were popular, I had "Hard Rock Cafe: Vulcan" and a "Quark's Bar: Deep Space Nine" t-shirts that I'd wear once in a while on non-uniform days.

I have a couple that I wear out and about, though they're not too loud. I have another couple that I bought but havent worn because I'm scared of them being noticed.

I'd wear a t-shirt if I had one, something with a good character design or something funny that's Trek-related on it.

I don't think that's much of a big deal.

I have a Starfleet Academy and a Star Trek: The Experience shirt that I'll wear out occasionally, and I haven't noticed that I get any looks because of them. I did just get my TOS gold uniform t-shirt from the Kellogg's giveaway the other day, but I can't ever see wearing that out of the house.

I have a "What would Captain Kirk do?" shirt that I'll wear out in public, and I've received some positive comments from people on that one. The Cheez-its uniform shirt, however, is going to be a house/work out shirt...a bit too much for me to wear out and about (besides, I look terrible in gold).

I've worn Trek Ts in public and no one blinks. I've even had customers give me the Vulcan salute based on the Trek stuff strewn around my computer/workstation. Life is short. Wear what you wish to when you wish where you wish. It could even start fun conversations and help you meet like minded people.

I'd possibly consider wearing a leather jacket with the pattern of the grey one Spock & Pike were wearing.

I have Carolina Tarheel t-shirts (great for doing yard work) and a Jeff Gordon #24 long sleeve t-shirt (for cooler weather). Those are the only 'branded' shirts I own.
I have always believed that companies should pay me to advertise their products, rather than me pay them to do so.

I have two Trek shirts. One is a nightshirt (accidentally bought it massively too big) and the other I have worn out.
I don't often wear tees, but I have no problem wearing Trek tees in public. :) Teeshirts are meant to express the interests and opinions of the wearer, and since Star Trek is one of my interests, I think it's good enough to wear.
Not sure if I'd ever be able to wear a uniform style shirt in public. I can't get the above mentioned promo shirts from Kelloggs (since I'm in Canada and, if I'm not mistaken, it's a US promo) even though I like them, but if I had one I'd probably wear it only around the house. :D
... but I would wear it around the house.

I used to have a avy blue one with the UFP logo on it and the words United Federation of Planets on it that I'd use as a gym shirt.

I now have one with a 40s cartoony look, sort of like a Monopoly card look, with a little guy in TOS yellow and he's holding a vacuum cleaner and it says "Having Trouble with Tribbles?...Our team of exterminators are standing by!"
My buddy got it for me at the Experience in Las Vegas.
