Trek Returning to TV in 2017!

Somebody ought to keep a close eye and ear on the major clothiers, tailors and apparel designers who supply CBS.

The type of fabrics being bulk ordered might give a clue as to the era the show will be set in.

I'm hoping it will be a ton of black and grey wool gabardines. ;) ;)

Togas. Everyone in togas.

Space togas.

The creators are gonna stump you all by creating Star Trek The Nude Generation.

All those long, long hours of stakeouts outside of clothing sweatshops for naught.:(

Star Trek: Voyuer

The USS Voyeur, NCC-6969, a Skyclad class starship outfitted entirely in transparent tritanium hull, commanded by toga wearing swingers and nudists. The ship's commander is Captain John Look Peeker, with his X.O., Cdr. 6 of 9, a blonde bombshell known for her excellent diplomatic skills.... she can stop a conflict just by having the enemy gaze upon her buxom physique.

I already subscribe to CBS All Access.

How do you find it? Especially technologically? No pauses or jumps? Responsive customer service?

I just found this reply to my post. You probably won't venture in to read this again, but if you do...

I find that I have no issues with the video quality and responsiveness. I watch primarily using my Chromecast to cast the video to my TV, and there have been no issues with that either. I can only think of a couple of occasions in the past few months in which the video paused momentarily, but once it came back it was fine. I haven't dealt with customer service.

The biggest issue I have, which I mentioned previously in either this thread or another, is that there are ads that you cannot skip past. They can last for the length of a typical commercial break or longer. I feel like I should not have to sit through these ads when I am paying them monthly. The other issue I have is that not all shows/seasons are available on tablets or mobile devices, which has been frustrating as I go back and watch old seasons of Survivor. I would love to be able to watch it on my phone during my lunch breaks, but the app only allows you to watch the most recent season. And for some reason the new Colbert show is not available for watching on tablets/phones at all.

Ads totally sink this boat. The point of subscribing to any service is to get rid of interrupting ads.

Yeah, I had the same thought. I already gave up on it because of the subscription. So, double-whammy. This will be the first time I won't see a first-run episode of Star Trek. I'll wait for the DVDs and support the show that way.

I'm still going to watch the new series, but seeing ads on a paid subscription service does suck and there's no amount of mental gymnastics that can excuse not having the option to click them off.

If you pay the subscription fee for a streaming service you shouldn't have to watch commercials if you don't want to. CBS: give people that option if you want your service to be taken more seriously.

Cable TV has lots of commercials, and it's more expensive than paid streaming services such as Netflix. You would think that when you pay $50-something or more per month for cable TV in HD, you shouldn't have to watch commercials.

What is the business model that allows some streaming services to make a profit from subscriptions of $10 a month or less with no advertising revenue?

Kor

Oh, if I could click an "off" button and not watch commercials on cable TV I'd do it. That said, even a bunch of streaming ads on CBS All Access won't keep me from watching the new Trek.
