Yeah the 'not mucked up' part is still under debate, lol. There are visual differences in the trailer... but thats a discussion for another thread.
I MEANT WAS,THEY HAV NOT GONE IN A DRASTIC REMAKE,TOTAL DEPARTURE WAY.WHAT I SAW WAS COOL,ENTERPRISE THE SERIES DID NOT MAKE SENSE IF ITS A PREQUEL,THIS DOES,I ALONG WITH MANY TRUST ORCI,KUTZMAN AND ABRAMS,SO THE MAIN WORRY IS OVER,THE SHIP LOOKS COOL,AND THEY ARE PAYING RESPECT TO THE STAR TREK CANON WITH COSTUMES,CASTING,BUDGET AND SCORE,SO MUCKED UP IS GETTING SLIMER BY THE DAY,ANYWAY I RESPECT UR CAUTION,REMAKES AND SEQUELS,PREQUELS ARE HARDLY GOOD THESE DAYS,BUT I JUST GOT A FEELING ABOUT THIS ONE,SORY BOUT BROKEN CAP LOCK JUST 2 TIRED,SIGNING OFF,HOPE THE NEWS IVE GIVEN IS POSITIVE TO EVERYONE
I love the basic shape of the E, but I just thought the skin of it was way too cluttered and over-detailed.
Anyway, glad to hear there's an actual deflector dish on the the new ship. After seeing the TMP-style saucer, I was starting to worry there would be a recessed, TMP-style dish.

No, the Enterprise-D was based on that design.
The E-E was the result of John Eaves being totally unoriginal and ripping off Probert's Refit and Sternbach's Voyager.

Well, if this all holds true, it would seem the movie is going to be vibrant in colour.
I'm a little surprised.
The first thing I thought of when the Romulan ship was described was Laas's (one of "The Hundred" from DS9 - same as Odo) spacefaring form.
Except golden, of course.
Like I said - surprised, but still all cool. It *would* have been rather odd if this movie came together in the exact manner I'd vaguely imagined.

No big deal- TOS had different coloured phasers over the 3 years. All black- Dark grey and black- black w/ white handle- black and blueish grey...
hi guys,the communicator I saw looked unfinished,but it was faithful in shape to original.romulan ship as I remember had bits of purple but 90% gold.think of a long squid,like really long,I dont get why there is a forum thread 4 the enterprise being not quite in shape,when u shoot certain objects at a angle or use a certain lense,it destorts the true shape of the object,what I saw of the enterprise was nothing short of gorgeous.warp nacelles reminicient of that cgi artist a month ago,where 4 awhile we thought that was the new ship.

could not tell,one looked like bana,he didnt have romulan hair cut!was too much in awe of 1701,there was something that looked like a klingon in the back.thinking about the romulan ship,do u remember that weired alien missile pod thing at the begining of the stargate atlantis pilot?that the vague shape of the romulan ship,I couldnt stare at everything,but all crew had phasers,general tone was colourful in a non joel schumacher way,oh wait the enterprise had nipples on its bow....
