Alt-Right is not the same as just being a Conservative. That's why it's called "alt".
You may be thinking of Neo-conservatives or whatever the fuck the Lincoln Project is.
Alt-Right = Nazis.

I think all the Trek shows are sort of going for a different audience. Discovery is basically like a CW show. Young and progressive and woke. Basically it's target audience is millennials and younger. It's basically the one trying the hardest to bring in younger newer fans who didn't grow up on Trek and also wants to be what passes for cool these days.
Picard is the serious adult one. It wants to be the "Logan" of Trek. The one that gets respect form critics and fans who have wanted Trek to get more real and serious and considers things like comics books as classical art.

They have xeno-Nazis there.in the 23rd century it doesn’t matter
lolThey have xeno-Nazis there.
'Serious adult one'? How, especially in contrast to Discover?
Besides, Millennials are 38 years old at this point, they are the grown-ups.
yea so British fgts would say that about Patrick Stewart. cheersIt features Patrick Stewart. Well respected Shakespearean actor. It has more violence and cussing in it plus sex scenes. No uniforms but regular clothes for the main characters. It's showrunner came from the world of books. It's main theme is even about things like aging and regret and basically stuff people tend to deal with as you get older. I think they even flat out said they were thinking about "Logan" when they made the show.
Jason
I feel really bad for you right now.And again, everyone, can we please try and keep the subject matter more directly related to Discovery and the introduction of the two new characters? I don't want to have to close the thread down but the characters and the show itself have barely been discussed.
yea so British fgts would say that about Patrick Stewart. cheers
0ffensive how?I think if you said what I think you said that is very offensive.

Everyone loves each other and is always talking about how proud or great so and so is. You literally got Tilly hugging a tree in the new teaser. And that is like the second hug in the teaser.

Warning for trolling.Look here, those of you trying to make Trek political in the current timeline should all get fucked sideways with a chainsaw.
Warning for using a homophobic slur. And with the context there don't try and sell me some bullshit about it referring to cigarettes.yea so British fgts would say that about Patrick Stewart. cheers
As happy as I was to hear this announced I had to prepare myself to have to read just how bigoted Trek fans can be and the absurd lengths to justify it and dance around the fact that they just wish that certain people no longer existed or were banished from society so they wouldn't have to know they exist.
I thought anyone who wants to speak to the manager for absurd reasons is a Karen these daysKarens refer to racist white women who use their 'white woman fragility' to intentionally get Black men murdered. Karens can go fuck themselves. If memory serves the term also comes from Black women, too. White people don't get to call 'Karen' childish because they aren't the ones being murdered by Karens' racism.
Good to see that my first impression was correct.next, you will have to explain why i would care about being offensive. i don’t care about some internet stranger’s feelings, tbf
What always gets me is that many claim that they felt some persecution for being geeks while younger, but can turn around and be even worse to a group they see as beneath them. In fact some seem to actually get a thrill out of it.Oof, yeah, this is something I'm always confused by. You'd think geeks would be more interested in sharing but I guess one's fantasy and science fiction hobbies can just be used to re-enforce a fear and desire to escape the reality of their responsibility to lift up marginalized people's voices.
