Trailer confirms re-boot????

From the context he's using the word reboot in the computer sense as in restart/refresh not the "Completely alter and start a new continuity" sense so many around here misuse it as.

I'm sick of this "reboot" stuff. It's a movie, not a fucking computer. There's always some inconsistency between movies dealing with the same subject matter. Just fucking deal with it instead of looking for some pigeonhole. Take each work on its merits.

You're not going to see it anyway, so why do you bother?

It doesn't have merits of it's own. Abrams is ripping off someone else's work and calling it his own.

Wouldn't that same logic apply to all the Trek movies except TMP?

There's a big pinned thread on top saying that Trek XI threads go in the Trek XI forum. This thread is now closed. I'd recommend starting it there again, but I think they get enough people claiming that it's a reboot, so do it at your own risk.
