An afterthought or two:
1) Yes, Blalock perhaps gave the best series-length performance in a Vulcan role.
What, you say?
Well, Nimoy portrayed a half-Vulcan!
2) The Intrepid tends to be taken as being a Connie, only because the actual production materials (as seen in The Making of... and The World of... and Star Trek Letters, etc.) note how certain ships of the "13" Constitution-class vessels in service at the start of Kirk's 5YM were destroyed during those years... Constellation, Exeter, Intrepid, Defiant... etc.
3) So, I could see Jennifer Garner playing a 171 year old T'Pol. We have "precedent" as female Vulcans age, they go through some sort of "T'Metamorphosis".... viz. Saavik changing (perhaps due to the Genesis effect?) from looking like Alley to looking like Curtis.... and T'Pau changing from a light-brown-haired non-accented young woman to a dark-black-haired heavily-accented old woman.
Garner could be the Lovsky to Blalock's T'Pol?
