TOS Klingons had ridges!

Kor, Koloth and Kang pretty much acted the same and probably could have been played by the same actor

It goes deeper than that. Koloth exists because they couldn't get John Colicos back to play Kor. Kang exists because they couldn't get John Colicos or William Campbell back to reprise Kor or Koloth. Each was initially conceived to be the one before, and was changed because the actors were busy with other roles.

I like it. It gave us three compelling characters, each with his own quirks and individual traits. My only disappointment is that the only time the three of them worked together as Klingons, two of the characters died, preventing it from happening again. I enjoyed their interplay very much.

Michael Ansara was great in virtually everything he did but Kang was his best characterization I'm sure! :klingon::techman:

Vulcans and Romulans looked bad on TNG and the other shows! A flat black wig and a big V across their foreheads which wasn't around in the time of TOS and Mark Lenard, Lawrence Montaigne and Barry Atwater didn't seem to have it at all! Yet both races had it in ENT which is set a century earlier!

Well, you know how those ridiculous Augment "Fear" viruses are on ENT-- it seems the virus itself even makes shit up as it goes along. Might as well have infected Romulans before TOS.

I don't think Ansara was in TNG sadly enough and I haven't seen the DS9 episode! VOY was just a cameo of sorts!

He was one guy that appeared in virtually every sci-fi show of that time! I think The Invaders was the only one he was absent from!

Is that right? I don't know much about him. What else was he in, JB?

The Outer limits as Marsden has stated, Lost in Space, where he was Kurt Russell's Father, The Time Tunnel twice, Land of The Giants, Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea twice I believe and the 1961 movie of the same name. Babylon 5, Buck Rogers (where he took over the part of Killer Kane from Henry Silva) and that's just his sci-fi catalogue of roles! And I think he had a small role in a show called Star Trek but I'm not too sure..:klingon::lol:

Wow! I only new about (and had forgotten) Babylon 5. Missed him on Buck Rogers somehow, though I guess there are some of those I haven't seen. The others are worth looking out for; thanks!

I Dream of Jeannie, thought that's not exactly SciFi.

Yes, you're right. I meant to say DS9 b ut for some reason my fingers thought otherwise...:D

No probs and if you're anything like me, you tend to write down things inside your head before you've reached the right place in the sentence you're compiling! ;)

The only written description of Klingon appearance in the script was "hard-faced, Oriental." That wouldn't be considered politically correct today, but those were the days...

Based on that, Philips and Colicos came up with the look that we got in Errand of Mercy. If you look closely, you will also note a slight tinge of green in the makeup.
