TOS fans. Was TNG's 'Relics' respectful or disrespectful of TOS?

^^ I'm actually glad they didn't do it. It's just so fannish an idea as to make me want to hurl. The cooperation between the two crews as depicted in the novel Federation is as close as I was comfortable to them getting.

Sorry Warped9 I did not mean to upset your stomach. ;) Anyway, you may be right. So I guess you hurled when you saw Kirk and Picard working together to defeat Soran in "Star Trek: Generations"?

I think I'd have been afraid of all the cuteness they'd have had the characters do. And all the references to things past. The scenes between Kirk and Picard were actually surprisingly restrained, but I still wasn't crazy about the whole thing. I'd would just have preferred the two generations be kept separate.

It's ridiculous in the novels that everyone is still alive except for Kirk and perhaps Sulu. Not only alive but on active duty,
