And this is the same (normally unseen) wall in Way To Eden. The door itself isn't visible, but Adam sneaks out to the Brig via the gap in between the strut and the aforementioned fourth wall.

Excellent catch @Mytran.

I have no idea why they stood that yellow grill in front of the wall. Maybe just to add some background detail?Excellent catch @Mytran.Also cool on the grilled wall.

I don't think the set was built with a fourth wall. I think they just moved partitions around as needed if they needed to have the fourth wall there. And this is the same (normally unseen) wall in Way To Eden. Could it be a bathroom? It looks like just one vertical screen but not against the wall. A little away from it. Maybe to create a separation for a little walk area for people entering from that doorway behind the strut.

More likely, a bathroom and a corridor. How many times have we've seen where people use "going to the bathroom" to slip out of the room for some nefarious activity?More likely a door to the corridor behind it. Adam? sneaks out through that exit to rejoin with with Sevrin in the aux control room.
Absolutely and this was a very common practise with most of the sets in TOS. I think (aside from the Bridge) only the Captain's Cabin set had the full set of walls, and in that case most of them were wild!I don't think the set was built with a fourth wall. @Donny did a great job. It's not real until Donny models it! Donny's TOS Enterprise InteriorsI found a page exploring the bathroom to the cabin and basically when the door opened, there was a wall behind it and no details. In at least one episode, a curved wall with a shelf (which I believe was originally part of Pike's cabin) can be seen. But the person who did it laid out the entire room based on that with a sick, toilet, and sonic shower to fill it out.

If I might make a suggestion, try using Jefferies' TMOST drawing of the port side as inspiration. It's a good bet that the ports aren't an exact match with the starboard side. Regardless, kudos for going the asymmetric route on them. For the TOS design, I plan to adhere slavishly to Gary Kerr's drawings so my drawings will differ from Sinclair, Cosimiro, Shaw and Covin (and obviously Franz Joseph and even Matt Jefferies). The only question I am having is how to arrange the ports on the unfinished port side. The ports on the underside of the saucer are not even and the ports on the refit and Excelsior aren't even so I'm thinking the ports on the port side will not be exactly the same. The ports on the edge of the saucer were never lit and never seen in any episode so the entire side of the ship is an open book. I'll mirror most of them, but a couple might get left off and some might get added. The rear port quarter of the saucer will probably have a couple of token lights as that is where I am placing the theater from Conscience of the King. I might have to extend this project to deck plans. But the first main focus is to get it far enough to get my Excelsior cross section finished. I am very close to having enough to do that. I just need to draw in the phasers and photon torpedo launchers and finalize the shuttle bay and cargo holds.
