    Hello everyone,
Just joined and I'm happy to find this forum. I'm putting together a Kirk display on a mannequin. I was lucky enough to get a William Shatner lifecast latex mask and bought eyes to put in it. Have a phaser, and a communicator already and I'm waiting for the uniform and a wig to arrive. At that point, I'll order an appropriate mannequin (not easy to find 5'9" mannequins) and then get to work.

The reason I'm posting is regarding the boots I found. As we know, finding correct TOS boots is very challenging, but I may have stumbled in to finding the Holy Grail. The brand is Spring Step and the style name is "Bolah". They are actually women's boots, but they are available up to European size 43, which
is a men's US size 10. The shape, width at the ankle, toe shape, height, type of soft leather and Cuban heel look accurate to me. Other boots are available from Caboots and Motorcowboy, but they are very expensive and don't look screen accurate to me. The Spring Step boots retail for $199.00, so they are less than half
the price of the others. I'm posting this info just in case it is helpful for anyone else struggling with finding the boots. I couldn't find instructions regarding posting photos, so hopefully I didn't violate any rules.

Is the display for your home, the way Trelane created a Kirk-and-Sulu set for his? A lot of guys buy or build a captain's chair, but what you're doing seems a little off the beaten path.

The boots you found are very close! Wouldn't you know, they stop just short of what I could fit into. Which is okay though, because I'm not a costume guy.

They don't come large enough for me, but I'm not a costume guy either. They look pretty close to accurate to me, especially compared to the other options out there. Should look pretty good on the display. Might be good for guys wearing size 10 or shorter.

Only amongst ourselves is it not embarrassing that we wish we could fit into women's boots. We'll just keep this between us. :bolian:

Completely agree Zap. And of course, it's not weird that I'll have a mannequin!

Yes, very close. And congrats on your mannequin. I'd love to see a pic when it's finished. :)

**Personally, all I ever want to do is buy boots...

That pic of the Shat and George should be used to show them both how close they once were and could be again! :guffaw:
