Top Gear New Series

I just read that apparently there is some debate on Jeremy's return to the show. Apparently he's not very happy with the contract numbers the BBC is throwing at him, and as such isn't 100% sure he'll be back for the next series. I think that has a lot to do with that final segment... not so much saying goodbye to the V12 supercar (although they are pretty much dead, even Lambo is saying they'll move away from the big V12 and look at super charging to turbocharging a V10) but saying goodbye to the series... if Jezza leaves that would pretty much kill Top Gear for me... what are they going to do? Bring back the fat bloke from the first season so he can creep out more grandmothers? Please. BBC will pay Jeremy and he'll be back, that's my prediction.

EDIT: Just saw this on Top Gear's site... (still not sure about Clarkson's contract though, looking into it)

So, just to clear up once and for all, Top Gear is NOT DEAD. Unless it went in the night and has yet to be discovered by the maid… Ha! Not really. See you in November.

Just saw the last ep, and it was a good ep. Loved the advert piece, as well as Leno's appearance. The last segment felt like Top Gear was writing a eulogy to the great cars they spotlight every series. No "POWERRRR", or jokes - just what Top Gear does every week - show the car and enjoy the ride. I agree that it's a loveletter to us petrolheads and probably a message to constructors out there to be careful. Even though hybrids are most likely the future, please don't quash the supercars, because us petrolheads will most likely hate them for doing so. Even though we can't drive them, that doesn't mean we want them gone.

And that's the real bombshell.

Addendum:
I hope Jezza is not leaving. He part of the life blood of Top Gear, and if he leaves, then I might do the same. BBC, get on with it already and pay the man!

Great series, unique ending. Can't wait for the boys to return hopefully around November - if only to make good television I can stomach. (I can't stand most television over here in the US - Top Gear and a number of other imports usually keeps me sane.)

I hope the Clarkson thing isn't true. Top Gear as we know it would be over without him.

IMO, the only expendable one is Hammond. Even then I wouldn't want to see him go since the three presenters have perfect chemistry together. Maybe they can give Hammond a freaking haircut if they need to cut something. :)

NOOOO you can't get rid of Hamster! He keeps the David Tennant fans happy when Doctor Who isn't on (and soon, he'll need to work overtime).

One thing I didn't get - when Clarkson was showing the Internet videos he said they had something in common that we should be able to spot but I didn't get it. What was it ?

But Hammond's found a new calling in hosting Total Wipeout! That's him set for life! :bolian:

I rather liked the end of Ep 7 - Aston + Eno + Jezza in thoughtful mood = nice.

:D

Jezza's currently filiming with the others for season 14, so no worries.

I thought they usually took a month or so off between filming...? I haven't heard anything from anyone about filming anything yet... just that they'd (the show) be back in the fall. Any sources on Clarkson being part of filming if they are actually back at it? I also heard that they were doing additional web content for series 13 still, so maybe that's what they're still working on...

I think it was just that all the cars were rubbish, confirming his point about terrible drivers not caring about cars and therefore buying awful ones.

I think they have to do it now because of the builders.

Hammond crashed his car Saturday, in a 4 car accident...
No-one got hurt, just the cars...
Top Gear star Richard Hammond has been involved in a road crash while driving his exclusive supercar, it has been reported.

The BBC presenter was apparently involved on a four-car incident at the Over Roundabout on the A40 near Gloucester.

The star, who escaped death in 2006 when his jet car crashed at 288mph, was believed to be in his £110,000 Morgan Aeromax at the time of the latest smash.

Apparently one of the Aussie presenters just had a crash too

From Digital Spy
Australian Top Gear host Steve Pizzati has been involved in a dramatic car accident while filming for the series.
The presenter of the motoring show, who was a guest driver in the Aussie Racing Cars super series, flipped his car on the last circuit of the race.
Pizzati told the Courier Mail: "On the last lap the two guys in front of me banged wheels and hit me. I've got caught up in it and it's caused me to flip - I guess you would say two and a half times, because the car's ended up on its roof."
The former race car driver added that he walked away with only a "humdinger of a headache and a sore neck".
