Top Gear New Series

They're going to wheel out a different Stig every week, aren't they ? :D

That was the first thing I thought of as soon as he took the helmet off. I don't think it would work though. Maybe 2 or 3 episodes, but not all 7.

Agreed. I'm not sure this could work as a running joke all season long like the Dacia Sandero or "I went on the internet and I found this...".

They just need a really big/tall guest and a really attractive female as the next Stigs and that would be just about right, without running it into the ground.

I'd laugh my socks off if the next one was Sabine Schmitz.

I just been on final gear and i can't believe some people are taking the stig bit seriously.

Same thing with the car blogs. A surprising number of people don't seem to realize Schumacher being the Stig was intended as a tongue-in-cheek entrance, not a reveal of the actual Stig. The last segment of the show should have given that away with absolutely no doubts left.

Sabine Schmitz as the next unmasked Stig would be unbelievably brilliant.

Just watched it, great episode to start off the new season, loved seeing Clarkson shovel coal in the train and Hammond get soaked in the rain.
The preview to the other episodes looked phantastic too, seems like their car-wrecking budget hasn't been cut too much.

They were probably joking but they said they'd decided that instead of taking a little from each episode they'd save the budget by making one rubbish episode and the rest their normal standard.

That'll be the one episode per season where they talk about cars for the entire episode then.

They normally do the budget ep in the winter series.
Have the people in the UK seen the behind the scenes video.

Only works for people living in the UK or for people who can do that thing where they trick the BBC into thinking there in the uk

No sense of humor. My brother and I laughed our asses off at that, although mostly because we don't like Skodas

I love that quote at the end of the article from 'Catholic' Henry someone, from Liverpool. Did they actually just pluck someone off the street to get that or something?

I'm half-hoping that to save money they do an entire show exclusively dedicated to the performance, handling, and ultimately, destruction of, the Dacia Sandero.

Richard Hammond set to star as Bilbo Baggins in upcoming Hobbit film  ...seriously though, that bit with him trying to start a motorbike was hilarious.

We where gasping for breath with that bit. Bro, who's a motorcycle enthusiast, said after regaining his compusure a bit "Thank God for the electrical starter"
