Too Much Has Been Said - Too Much is Now Known

Plumster

Commander
What's left in terms of the mystery to this film? A few visuals?

I just can't get excited anymore - the internet is a hateful thing.

Well, there's, like, the movie.

If the appeal of movies were based on story alone we could all save a lot of money by just buying the novelizations.

Ummm... I dunno they really havn't revealed much beyond what everyone already figured out anyways. And there's kind of the plot, the storyline and all of that.

All we know is; it's about Spock traveling back in time to stop Nero from messing with the timeline and that it probably creates a divergent timeline.

Other than that there's everything. What is Nero's motivation, what really is the story behind this Kirk, how does each character end up a part of the crew, what do they actually do to stop Nero, what does Spock do once they do, does the ship travel at warp 42 just to spite canon?

There's tons of speculation based on a few comments here and there. But not enough to say we know even close to everything. It's all speculation. For all we know they are throwing crap at us just to keep us off the real trail.

I don't recall where I read it, but there was the implication that pretty much everything we know about this film takes place in the first 45 minutes/hour of the film. We still know very little about how it resolves, plus a number of other smaller issues: What happens to Pike? Is Vulcan destroyed? How does Kirk forget how to drive a stick shift by the end of the film, and does Bones surgically alter his eye color?

You know, the really important questions.

On the contrary, it's good we now know what we know. This is what we should know about a movie. I for one am glad the uber-secrecy is behind us.

Of course, now we have to deal with the fact that what we know sucks ass.

I'm still waiting to see what happens to the Rob Schneider "You Can Do It" officer in the movie.

There's no pleasing some people, I think. It's either too little or too much information.

Personally, I don't think we know anything that cal tell us whether this film will rock or blow. But that's just my opinion.

You've seen like a 1 minute trailer, and everything else is text based that you must have read yourself.

There's a lot I've read about the new film and I'm still looking forward to it. Then again, I'm also looking forward to my tumble dryer to be finished to so I can put my warm boxer shorts on.

Quick! Everyone take their amnesia pills! I call mine "Forget-Me-Nows"...

Shhhhh.....

Don't put reason and common sense into the mix.

If you know too much about the movie now, perhaps you shouldn't have been reading threads in this forum.

I get the impression that as was said, we don't know and haven't seen very much if anything at all from the end of the movie. I think the drill thing takes place prior to the end as does most of the other action in the trailer. So hey, I think I know some stuff, but I would love to know more. :)

You're right.

Someone is going to get whacked! Tony Sopranos style.

I hope you're joking.

We still know next to NOTHING about the movie.

Wait. See.

In five months you'll be exposed to a lot of stuff you never knew was coming.

You know NOTHING yet. None of us do.
