"Jean-Luc Picard..... is back." "He may not be a captain any more... [Picard] may not be the same as you remember.... 20 years has passed, which is nearly the length of time between Nemesis and today." "We have NO scripts yet, we are talking story...." but with the passion of fans and writers, "[it will be] exactly as we had before."

The big news at STLV confirmed the previous rumors, Sir Patrick Stewart is returning to Star Trek, reprising his iconic role as Jean Luc-Picard. Stewart was introduced to the crowd with rousing applause, telling them he has been working on the series for six months. He said he was initially reluctant, however he became impressed with the team. He also revealed that he has rewatched Star Trek: The Next Generation to prepare.
A few details were provided for the show. Stewart revealed that 20 years have passed since the last time we saw Picard, in Star Trek: Nemesis. And “he may not be the Jean-Luc you know.” As of now there are no scripts for the show and it is “very early on.”
