TNG moments that made you laugh.

Lwaxana: Jean-Luc, tell me more of that wonderful poetry.
Picard: Um we'd best be going.
(Picard goes over to Wesley)
Picard (whispers): Mr. Crusher Warp-9-Menage a Trois

Another good one - don't remember what ep it was from...I think it was that one where the ship was trapped by Nagilum, which would make it S2 because I remember Pulaski being there - at the end when they're disarming the auto-destruct. Picard gives his abort command...

Computer: Does the First Officer agree?
Riker: Yes I do indeed agree wholeheartedly!
Computer: Destruct sequence aborted.
Picard: (slowly turning towards Riker) A simple 'yes' would have sufficed, Number One.
Riker: (sheepishly) I didn't want there to be any doubt.

I loved that episode! (Where Silence Has Lease)
If that was just one of the creatures, imagine what the whole population is like.
Well back to one that made me laugh.
The Royale.
Nothing more intresting than a world made from a not-so-great book to spend the rest of your life in.
Then, you can never leave.
Then, here comes an Away Team that includes a particularly interesting android named Data.
Shortly followed by blackjack and a white cowboy hat.
Ah, good times.

Picard:

- Nothing would please me more than to give away Mrs. Troi.

- I'm a role model!

And Picard trying to imitate an American accent in those Dixon Hill episodes.

Q: "What must I do to convince you people?"
Worf: "Die."
Q: "Very droll, Worf. Eat any good books lately?"

My personal favorite. Q was easily the best comedy they ever had

I kind of like Geordi's wit on occasion

(To Berlinghoff Rasmussen) "If I hand my assignment in on time, can I get a glimpse into next week's poker game?"

I really like that Q was probably intended to be the ultimate enemy to the Federation. A malevolent being who could wipe out their very exsistance with a snap of his fingers.

Then he became somewhat of an imp.

Any episode involving Q, and just about any episode where Data laughs.....There's almost nothing in this world that is funnier than that....

(Unless we're talking about the Mulder bitch scream in Jose Chung's From Outer Space, but that's a COMPLETELY different topic)

Oh! I almost forgot! Almost nothing beats the scene in the episode True Q, when Crusher is bitching at Q and he turns her into a yapping dog. Come on, y'all know that was a perfect emulation of one of the most annoying characters in Star Trek Universe. Priceless.

Picard quoting Shakespeare to Lxwana on the Bridge of the Enterprise in "Menage a Troi".

Good God, Maj was really hamming it up in that scene!

... And I am sure that one Will Shakesspeare was revolving in his grave at high speed when Picard was doing those quotes.

Had to have been an unusual experience for Patrick Stewart. Classic-trained actor, doing a scene in which his character "did" Shakespeare really really badly.

That scene (I forget the episode name) where a Ferengi kidnaps Lwaxana - and Picard has to talk him into giving her back.
Menage a Trois.
Remember Manhunt when Lwaxana hits that age when she has desires and Picard is her main target.
A date and Data is the entertainment with his anecdotes.

Another good choice. One part I particularly enjoy in that episode is where Deanna is explaining to Picard about 'The Phase' that Betazoid women go through.

Plus Riker sitting on the sidelines, doing a double-take about the multiplier on Betazoid sexuality (Deanna says to him "I didn't want to frighten you.,,,"), then grinning hugely - and then cheerfully congratulating his Captain on his good fortune.

What I thought was hilarious during Picards speech declaring his love for Lwaxana to the Ferengi Captain is when he turns to walk back to his chair, hands in the air, quoting shakespeare, you see Patrick Stewart look at Johnathon Frakes barely keeping himself from laughing and you know that was them, not something from the script, the scene was so ridiculous I'm sure it took a few takes to get it right lol

What's great about this thread is that alot of these moments are from commonly derided episodes (Up The Long Ladder, Manhunt, Menage a Troi). It just shows that even when Trek is bad, we can glean something good from it.I like (from QPid) "Sorry!" after Worf smashes Geordi's lute against a tree before handing it back.

I've always laughed at this scene as the worst forced attempt of humor in all of Trek imo.

PICARD: Pursuant to paragraph one thousand two hundred and ninety, I hereby formally request third party arbitration of our dispute.
SHELIAK [on viewscreen]: You have the right.
PICARD: Furthermore, pursuant to subsection D three, I name the Grisellas to arbitrate.
SHELIAK [on viewscreen]: Grisellas?
PICARD: Unfortunately, they are currently in their hibernation cycle, However, they will awaken in six months, at which time we can get this matter settled. Now, do you want to wait or give me my three weeks?

No, I wouldn't call that humor - that was Picard using the Sheliak's own technicality against them. What I WOULD call humor was the rest of that scene...

SHELIAK [on viewscreen]: Absurd. We carry the membership. We can brook no delay.
PICARD: Then I declare the treaty in abeyance.
SHELIAK [on viewscreen]: Wait! Negotiation is permiss...
(Picard has him cut off in mid word)
RIKER: You enjoyed that.
PICARD: You're damned right.
WORF: Captain, they are hailing us.
(one, two, three, four, make him wait outside the door.)
(Picard inspects the ship's plaque for dust)
WORF: Sir?
(Five, six, seven, eight, does the beggar good to wait)
PICARD: On screen.
SHELIAK [on viewscreen]: You may have your three weeks, Picard of the Enterprise.
PICARD: Thank you.

The scene in Unification Part 1, where Picard and Data are on the Klingon ship, and Data is just standing there while Picard is trying to sleep.

There's a lot of visual humour there, so quoting the lines won't do it justice.
