Shatner in The Inner Light would have been priceless.
All of them
They should all be Kirk. TOS, phase II, Kirk's stint as a deep space station commander, Kirk getting stranded in the Delta Quadrant......
I thought of that and at first I said no way. But then I remembered "The Paradise Syndrome," where he kinda did that anyway. With a much better story like "The Inner Light," he could have pulled it off well, but not better than Patrick Stewart.Shatner in The Inner Light would have been priceless.
How about - EVERY SINGLE ONE...What TNG episodes would you have loved to see Captain KIrk in instead of Picard?
Most of the first season episodes, but it would be awesome to see him in Tapestry.
Nagilum: "Corbomite?"Where Silence Has Lease.
I see what you did there...."The Naked Now", naturally.![]()
So the premise of your rewrite is that the NX-01 is going to get destroyed? Um, what?Yesterdays Enterprise, with the TOS crew helping the NX-01 preserve the Federation, as its destruction was a rallying point during the Romulan War. Kirk / T'Pol banter would be fantastic.
- With Satie, Kirk would have eventually gotten up and slapped some sense into her, on the screen.Come to think of it, how would The Drumhead have played out with a Kirk-Satie confrontation rather than Picard-Satie ? Or The Inner Light ? (Not saying I think they would have been better, just curious what people think.)

If you discount the events of TATV (as so many fans do), then it is possible that the ship and crew were destroyed at some point, at a pivotal point in the Trek history. So the premise of your rewrite is that the NX-01 is going to get destroyed? Um, what?
When you boil it down to its core, it seems that the whole thing would play like "The City on the Edge of Forever": History has gone awry, because something has been put out of time. To fix it, someone has to make the ultimate sacrifice. It's going to come off even more like "City," when you realize that the logical choice (HA!) for the Guinan counterpart is Spock. Kirk and Spock arguing over the necessary sacrifice to restore history is so "City."If you discount the events of TATV (as so many fans do), then it is possible that the ship and crew were destroyed at some point, at a pivotal point in the Trek history.
Or Kirk interact with the captain of a different Enterprise.
