Isn't it supposed to be the big reveal of the Enterprise in all her glory though?Yeah, that was the first shot I ever saw before viewing the movie, and I thought it was horrendous. Plus the shuttle in the foreground mucks it up even worse.
The Enterprise-E is a sexy woman covered in LEGO bricks. The overall form is pleasing, but the surface look leaves much to be desired.
I think the attitude when the movie was in production was to have no ship pron- therefore there was very little "glorious" stuff to work with for promotion.Isn't it supposed to be the big reveal of the Enterprise in all her glory though?

Here are two better looks at it's design:the Enterprise in all her glory
I respect your informed opinion. It's just a terrible design IMO, sorry : (
Heh, yeah. In fairness, I was rather indifferent to the Defiant when I first saw that but now I love it. I'm not sure that'll happen with this ship.I respect your informed opinion.
But you have to admit- it IS different than what you've seen before, at least, right?![]()
Explain.more pleasing compared to the old TMP Enterprise, with it's... unrealistic shapes.
To quote myself: "every design is rooted in it's era of origin, no matter the attempt to be "futuristic." Look at the nacelle struts in TMP refit- at the time it was the cat's whiskers, now, looking back, the RIDICULOUSLY severe slant backward combined with the rather tiny connection to the secondary hull just *reeks* of aerodynamic late-seventies cool, IMO anyway. Not that that's bad, just placeable in time of conception."
Why not?Well, for one, the nacelle struts. If it really needs such sturdy struts in space, for whatever reason, why slant them back in such an impossible weird angle?
As if 50s cars don't look better than modern cars.Look at the nacelles, impulse engines, torpedo tube, hangar doors; it all looks very dated to me; there's no real reason to have them designed like that; except if you want it to look like some 50's supercar.
Maybe they shouldn't have windows on planes either. The windows are way too small; if having windows presents such a structural problem that they can't be full-sized (from floor to ceiling); then there shouldn't be any windows at all. Now it just looks like it's ~700m, while in actuality, it's half that.
I have come to like it on equal footing with TMP-E myself. Having the currently available model/toy to play wi- er, EXAMINE doesn't hurt either.![]()

The (new) Enterprise has a much more unified look; even if it doesn't appeal to everybody, it's at the least more likely to.
A most logical 'tude, dude.I have grown up with Trek from TOS on, there are highs and lows when it comes to the ships. Each vessel has its merits and each has it faults
