Spoilers Timeless Season 2 - SPOILERS

Which is not quite the same thing, because it was the first of two DVD movies, and there were plans to do more, but they were scuttled by MGM going bankrupt, IIRC.
Yes, but only the first one had anything to do with their ongoing storylines left hanging at the end of the last season.. The second one was a standalone. So I think that The Ark of Truth is a fair comparison to what Timeless is getting, and proof that a wrap-up movie can work.

SG-1 was planning for a final 11th season, they thought it was in the bed and it was canceled after they already filmed at least half the season, if not much more. So instead of rushing an ending in probably less than 6 episodes they knew they were getting DVD movies.

It was canceled after the 200th episode air, but who knew how many more episodes were filmed by the time it aired.
Well, they managed to get some jabs into 10x18 "Family Ties". So certainly no later than that! :) They also did try to shop the show around, something that might have been harder if they'd tied everything up with a bow.

I really like Unending. It's slightly silly killing off a whole race and have all the information of the universe on one easily destroyable ship. But it's a nice ending even though nothing with the Ori is closed off.

I have barely seen any Timeless but I'm always happy for fans to get closure, more so with sci-fi shows. I just hope the writer isn't dump enough to do another cliffhanger.

I finally caught up on this show the other day, and am happy to find out there is a wrap up movie. So much that doesn't quite make sense though - if Rittenhouse was a huge history spanning world controlling secret society, how was it that there were no superiors? Its all just Lucy's family? Huh?? Just doesn't seem to jibe with the impression given in Season 1. Emma and Jessica are whats left? Who would let them take control? Isn't there some kind of hiarchy? Did they ever explain the S1 finale vision? Did they ever wrap up the journal? Its a fun show, but doesn't hold up too well.

I think the idea was that most of Rittenhouse was brought down in the season 1 finale, leaving Lucy's family to take over in the power vacuum, or something like that. But yeah, the two seasons' portrayals of the organization don't really fit together that well.

Its kind of ironic that Flynn keeps getting proven right, over and over again. I almost think I would have liked a show about him and his team, and the hard choices they were making, in the attempts to stop Rittenhouse. I remember hoping during an earlier season, that there would be some "history written by the victors" in play, where the "historical truth" about an event is through the Rittenhouse lens - something like finding out a traitor or bad person was really the good guy, or something. I don't remember details anymore; I watch too many time travel shows. :P

Looking forward to the wrapup. Going out on a limb to predict they save the world and revive Rufus. It's still a shame this one is going. To my taste it's the kind of light-hearted time travel romp Legends wants to be. Preston, Logan and Carlin just work better for that than superpowers.

Have there been any details released about when the wrap up will air? I'm guessing not yet . . . but I don't follow that type of news much.

I am not sure what to expect from it. It’s being written as two separate episodes but with a single director for both.

Back to the Future trilogy are my favorite movies and Quantum Leap my favorite tv show. I should have loved this show but I never did. I admired it for showing unknown corners of history. But the writing was never that good. It got too bogged down in the Rittenhouse nonsense.
I have read that while aiming for a satisfying conclusion they are open to continue the story if there is interest later. I hope they create a final ending to Rittenhouse. They have access to a time machine. Which in itself provides endless potential future stories. They do not need to end with a shocking twist to generate possible future movies that might never happen.

I tend to regard "Legends" as being more light-hearted than "Timeless". And I don't see why one show should be regarded as superior to the other, based upon how "light-hearted" it is.

Sorry to reply to an old thread but did anyone find Emma just cartoon evil, just for the sake of it? Her character seemed pointless.
