In my youth I don't really remember watching very many science fiction TV shows unless the cartoon "Invader Zim" counts (my sis got me hooked on that one, along with cheese nips and rap music, damn her), but I remember watching plenty of Sci Fi movies, including Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country and Star Wars.

I'd like to hear which science fiction shows you all watched when you were wee little ones.

Cartoon:
--------
Speed Racer
The Amazing Three
Gigantor
Space Ghost
Herculoids
Fantastic Four
Spiderman
The 'New' Adventures of Superman/Batman/Aquaman/JLA (Filmation cartoons)
The Thunderbirds (in Super-Marionation ;)) WTF did F.A.B. stand for anyway??!!
Sealab 2020 (yes the real and BAD one, not the Adult Swim Sealab 2021).
Star Trek (animated)
Planet of the Apes (animated)
The New Centurians
Shazam! (Live action from Filmation)
Ark II (Live action from Filmation)
Space Academy (Live action from Filmation)
Lost Saucer (Sid and Marty Kroft)
Land of the Lost (Sid and Marty Kroft)

Live Action:
-----------
Twilight Zone
Outer Limits
Star Trek
Lost In Space
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
Time Tunnel
Land of the Giants (First season sucked - improved in second season)
The Invaders
The Prisoner
The Avengers (John Steed & Emma Peel)
Space: 1999
The Starlost (Daytime soap operas had better sets and visual effects:eek:)
Logan's Run (Yes, they made a TV series of it)
Planet of the Apes (Yes this was a TV series too)

That covers me from are 6 to age 12 or so.

And I thought the thread was about something like this. :cardie:

My kids were watching TV after supper last night, Phineas and Ferb and they asked me if I watched it when I was a kid. I had to laugh and it did get me thinking about some of the shows that I watched as a kid. On the science fiction side I remember the following shows:

  • Paul Shannon's Adventure Time - Space Angel cartoons - their lips moved
  • Space Ghost
  • Fireball XL5 (The kids keep asking me why the DVDs aren't in color)
  • Stingray
  • Lost in Space
  • Star Trek
  • Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
  • Time Tunnel
  • Land of the Giants (I thought this one kind of sucked)
I'd like to hear which science fiction shows you all watched when you were wee little ones.
the original Battlestar Galactica (when I was something like 4-5) had a crush on Starbuck
Planet of the Apes - had a crush on the guy with long dark hair (from IMDB, it seems it was James Noughton's character)

+ I vaguely remember the image of young William Shatner, so I guess I saw Star Trek at some point on TV in the late 1970s, but was way too little to watch it, since I remember absolutely nothing else.

in my preteen/early teenageyears -
The Twilight Zone
Star Trek: The Next Generation (sadly, only season 1, they didn't show the other seasons on our TV)

I need to point out that they were probably shown a year or two after their US airdate, or even several years later, so this doesn't exactly 'date me' precisely. IMDB says The Planet of the Apes started in 1974, when I wasn't even born.

But I can tell you how old I was when my mom took me to watch The Return of the Jedi in the cinema (I had not seen Star Wars or The Empire Strikes Back before... which makes me a bit sad now, since TESB was spoiled to me, but at the time, I had no problems since I understood all that was going on)... that would tell you how old I am.

In reruns: Star Trek, The Avengers with Emma Peel and John Steed, Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, My Favorite Martian, Wild Wild West.

For first run: Alien Nation, Time Trax, TNG, DS9, Earth 2 (I think it was called), Ray Bradbury Theater, Quantum Leap, Friday the 13th The Series, Tales from the Darkside, MST3K- in syndication, Lois and Clark, and I can barely remember Creature Feature with Dr. Sanguinary- spooky (to a little kid) B movies

I didn't watch too many SF/F shows when I was younger. I got into that more heavily during my teen years.

reruns of Night Gallery, Twilight Zone and Outer Limits.

The usual 70s stuff-Six Million Dollar Man, Battlestar, etc

Jason of Star Command, Buck Rogers, Ark II, The Apes cartoon series, TAS, basically if it had a hint of scifi I was all over it.

Rather than date yourself, you have identified yourself as an outstanding individual. Voyage was definitely a favorite in my younger days.
