I really enjoyed the whole story arc for the 11th Doctor but for whatever reason...I can't seem to be able to watch it again either.
That's the benefit of voyager and arguably TNG-you can watch your favorites again and again. You don't have to follow hours long arcs.
--Kes in Warlord was awesome. I could watch it all day. --I still don't get making Kirk a captain after being only a 3 year cadet. (His whole crew too) --..........which is why I tend to not get NuTrek in general --I think Turnabout Intruder is just about the funniest episode ever --there are times I like certain characters and other times I find them annoying. --The TNG movies were botched, unfortunately
I like Wesley Crusher. It's not his fault the adults are so stupid he has to step in. My two favorite episodes with Wes are The Game and Datalore.
It's already a stretch with Kirk, but the crew too? Uhura, Chekov, Sulu? I know its a younger, sexier Trek, but this is almost cartoon territory.
Pike gets promoted, Kirk gets promoted, everybody gets promoted...except Admiral Madea... Star Trek - Beyond Credibility
I despise Space Seed and TWOK is watchable only if I ignore SS. Can't stand Khan. Didn't like him in STID either.
I never liked the TMP/TNG theme. It's garish as hell and annoying. DAAAAA dada DAAAAA dada DAAAAAAA It's like an annoying 4-year-old shouting in my ear. Having watched it in its sped-up and thus even higher-pitched PAL version for years didn't help, though.
Why not just watch one a day? Or even one a week as they were originally shown? I hear you, I don't have a lot of time either and I'm not the type to watch six episodes of anything back to back. I've found in this age of binge watching one episode per day/week of things work better for me and my lack of time!
After just having seen the first half of Insurrection, I now see some value in all the Next Gen films, and see them as much more sincere attempts to be adult, and creative, and to hold onto the essence of the original series, than the original cast films. The latter are distorted Hollywood creatures which turned an adult, challenging SF drama into a comic book.
It didn't help in the first place that it's repeated over and over and over and over and over and over again in TMP. It was already overused in its first appearance. Another problem is that when it's used for the TNG theme, part of the middle, the most interesting part that's suppose to bring it all around home, is cut out, which only increases its repetitiveness. Certain arrangements of it are OK to me, though.
- I agree, but Season 1-5 are fine in my opinion. They're mostly standalone episodes. It's only Season 6&7 and the Dominion War that nearly ruined DS9 for me. It brought serialized war and misery. No thanks, I'd rather rewatch a Voyager episode. - Neelix is not annoying to watch. He's a fun character because he is annoying. - The Final Frontier was a very good Star Trek film. The only one true to the original series in fact, with a perfect balance of humor, comradery and action. - People who think TMP is too slow have no patience. - Pulaski > Crusher. - Season 2 of TNG was just as good as the later seasons and I don't get why it is often considered as 'bad' as season 1.
