Probably all the time from now on. Not every movie can be titled "Avengers", even if they are a ensemble movie. So pretty much all the sequels, and even some of the origin movies, will have appearances by other characters. Some more and some less significant than others.

I personally dont mind it. I like that Ragnarok is basically MCU Episode XVII instead of Thor 3.

I have to admit that despite the large cast, I never felt that Cilvil War was an Avengers movie. It still focused on Steve, his supporting cast and the dangling threads from his movies.

    Probably for awhile.

Marvel couldn't just make solo and origin movies all the time.Their universe is growing.

Just like the comics we'll get team up movies.

-Thor with dr strange and hulk

    -Spider-Man and iron man

    -Captain America civil war

They couldn't possibly stay by themselves for too long.

It's probably part of the phase 3 plans.

I wonder who the guardians will team up with

I feel like it manages to be both at the same time.

I personally do mind it. I don't want to give up money to watch a Captain America movie and find myself watching an Avengers film in which Tony Stark is the co-lead. Nor do I want to give up money to see a Thor movie and find myself watching a semi-Avengers film in which the Hulk is also a co-lead.

Save these films for one with an Avengers title or give Mark Ruffalo his solo Hulk film and RDJ his fourth Iron Man flick. But of course, Marvel won't. Unfortunately.

    I disagree. Completely.

Steve's personal arc - whether it to do with Bucky, Sam, Sharon or HYDRA - were given rush jobs in compare to Tony's manpain over Sokovia and the whole Avengers assemble schtick.

One would assume you're not in a very large group wanting such a thing.

Expected to be what? Your whole hatred of cross pollination of characters in the Marvel films seems very irrational.

It's not unprecedented. As I mentioned the comics do this sort of thing all the time.

The Marvel Universe is growing. Movie characters will run into movie characters. TV characters meet other show's character (The Defenders)

You can't expect characters to not meet up now.

For example. Banner as Stark's soundboard/Therapist was sort of funny in Iron Man 3. That's something you'd see in the comics.

Given that this was a huge part of the idea of the movies in the first place, and we're past the midway point of the overall arc, it's only going to be more common to see this level of cross-over.

Or would everyone prefer they just slammed them together only in Infinity War Part 1 without having established more of a connection between them as a group before that?

Exactly. What do some people think the lead up to the first "Avenger's" movie was?

Random people getting together? No. Everyone had ties to the tessarect in someway

-Stark's new arc reactor particle was built from research from the tessarect

-Hydra used the tessarect. Captain America got involved

I think it will be broken by Doctor Strange unless you're counting post-credit scenes that are scenes from other movies.

My hatred of cross-pollination? Where on earth did you get that from? I don't mind an assemble of Marvel characters if the movie is supposed to be about "The Avengers" or "The Defenders" or whatever.

I do mind when I'm presented a film in which the title indicates that it is a Captain America film and I'm given an Avengers film in which Iron Man is made the co-lead and has more character development than the character who is supposed to be the lead.

After all, the movie WAS NOT called "Captain America v. Iron Man: Civil War".

Don't see how you avoid cross-pollination at this point. After we're shown a couple dozen superheroes running around, isn't it kinda odd if a huge stakes event is going on and Cap has to deal with it all by himself because none of his buddies can be bothered to show up and help? It was fine starting out, but now that they're all out there and connected, it's strange for help to NOT show up.

Can do more personal stories and keep it smaller, but when you want to go big, it's not plausible that they'd go it alone. Why storm the castle alone when you've got a giant green monster or a Norse god on speed dial?

I don't mind if a "Captain America" movie has more characters. I do mind if it the movie isn't ABOUT Captain America. This was more of a Tony Stark movie, secondarily a Black Panther movie. Steve Rogers had no character development in this movie. I'll admit though, the scene with Steve and Bucky beating the crap out of Tony by exchanging the shield back and forth never got old, despite seeing it numerous times on trailers.

This is one of the few Marvel movies I haven't bothered to get on DVD.

I don't too.. Civil War fit perfectly into Steve's story as the straightshooter of the Marvel universe. If they wanted to do an exact copy of the comic storyline the movie would not be able to be financed and would have at least to be a three parter what with the multiple storylines that surrounded the central storyline and the dozens of heroes on either side.

The solo movies, while being "augmented" since phase 2 with cameos, still feel like it.. they are still centered on the main character but Marvel took the chance and weave them into a larger tapestry that all point to Infinity War without overpowering the story.

If Marvel is going to stop making solo films, then why don't they just give us movies with titles that do not indicate they are solo films? Is that so damn hard?

And by the way, Marvel could have given Chris Evans his last solo film before tackling the Civil War story line. Marvel was about to do this anyway before they decided to turn it into an Avengers film that focused a lot on Iron Man's stupid man pain. Good grief.
