Thor 2 -Movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2013

That's kind of disappointing. He certainly didn't have a huge part in the first film, but I always hate it when roles are recast between films.

I think they should do an adaptation of Secret Invasion and reveal that Banner, Rhodey and Fandral had all been replaced by Skrulls.

While I am disapointed to see a role being recast, I wouldn't mind if Zachary Levi took over. I love Chuck, and it would be interesting to see Levi in a fantasy role like this.

Fandral to be recast

I had no idea that was him on Once Upon a Time until I read that article.

Surprised they didn't try to try to schedule his time for both roles since Disney is involved with both Marvel and ABC. I doubt the role in Thor 2 will even that large.

Peter Facinelli was able to be in five Twilight movies while still being able to be a supporting charactor in Showtime's Nurse Jackie.

Preemptive strike to keep him from being The Flash?

What do you mean? Actors have played multiple comic book character movie roles before. A certain douchebag that will go unnamed was in Green Lantern, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Blade Trinity.

Chris Evans also played the Human Torch and Captain America, doing a much better job in the second role.

And Buster Crabbe played Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, and Tarzan. And Tom Tyler played Captain Marvel and the Phantom (and the Mummy). And Halle Berry played Catwoman and Storm . . . . .

There's no rule that says that an actor can only play one comic book character. Heck, John Wayne spent most of his career playing cowboys. And how many cops and detectives have Clint Eastwood and Bruce Willis played?

Now that's an awesome idea! She was great in Prometheus, and I hear she's great in Snow White. And she's just an all around great actress.

I like casting continuity myself, but compared to the re-casting of Bruce Banner, Rhodey and Howard Stark, this is fairly small beans.

Chuck vs. Thor!

Thor 2 Latest: Josh Dallas Out, Zachary Levi In

Levi had actually been in talks to join the first Thor as Frandral, an Asgardian tag-along cast in the mold of swashbuckling Errol Flynn, but had to bow out when NBC's Chuck got an episode extension, paving the way for Josh Dallas to fill the role. But now Dallas has his own TV commitments — ABC's Once Upon a Time — and sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that Marvel Studios will likely offer the role to Levi any day now.
This is even better than the Charlize Theron news! I guess I should get around to seeing the first movie, huh? I missed that last year but The Avengers reminded me that I still needed to see it. :D
