Thomas Dekker thanks people for trying to save TSCC

^ He always has been, he was a horrible pick for John Connor.

He actually reminds me of an ex of mine, and that's not who I want trying to save the human race.

I like his John Conner more than I like Thomas. And smoking? In 2009? In California? He says he has bills to pay but obviously makes too much money if he's paying $8/pack or whatever it is now.

I liked Nick Stahl. Maybe I'm the only one. :p

Sucks for the T:SCC fans that the show got axed from ratings that Dollhouse would be lucky to get. Life ain't fair.

His portrayal of John Connor has become my definitive version, by far.

And I don't think Bale will be able to bring the same humanity to the role. I've little doubt he'll be able to bring the intensity, passion, and the like. But, Dekker made John Connor human for me.

It's not life, it's business. Whedon convinced FOX that he could produce Dollhouse for a lower budget (and cut back to a standard 42-minute run time), offsetting the revenue loss from lower ratings. If TSCC can't be made as cheaply, then it wouldn't be as likely to get renewed. In a sense -- a strictly financial sense -- it's entirely fair. The less a show costs, the lower its ratings need to be to make it profitable.

Also, baseline ratings are only part of the picture these days; Dollhouse is doing very well in delayed-viewing/DVR figures.

^If these reports are true, then yes, the cliffhanger will remain unresolved -- unless they can somehow arrange for a direct-to-DVD wrapup.

Lol, let this show die already. They are probably just going to retcon everything in the new film anyway.

LOLLERSKATES, the television show and new film are in alternate realities, it has nothing to do with retconning.

Discounted for the 75% or so of people who zap the ads. The advertisers already have caught onto that.

Slashing the budget is probably the biggest factor. Online viewing, DVD sales and DVR figures are still pretty piddly. Still, I sympathize with the T:SCC fans. Tho I got bored with it, it was a well made show.
