Definitely a small ship, smaller cast would work a lot better.
I wouldn't mind a smaller ship. Maybe a Defiant-sized one. I feel like if they don't always want to focus on a lot of characters, then a smaller cast would work
A ship that was Defiant size would be perfect. It's not small but neither is it a galaxy class monster. It would be perfect
That would be interesting, and the end of the series could tie into the movie directly.
FWiW - if (and that’s still a debatable if) the rumour of there being a hard trek reset coming - I actually wouldn’t mind that happening, as I like to be surprised by what can be done with Trek, and wouldn’t mind having to rediscover it again from scratch - in some other, not reliant on decades of previously established history(s), alternate reality.
Wouldn’t mind seeing a completely redesigned starship also, really pushing the proverbial ‘boat out’ - even more so than Trek 09 Kelvin timeline enterprise supposedly did.
That’s my glass-half full approach, at the moment - not much to go on, but it’s what I have - and mines a fairly surface commentary on the next iteration of Trek.
Edit: I also say this as a big fan of the TOS, Prime timeline and Kelvin timeline Trek movies, TNG, Enterprise, Discovery, SNWs, Academy, etc.

Sure. It’s been proposed at least a dozen times if not many multiples of that. I would watch such a show. Not sure it would appeal to a new crowd, though.
I'm going to cop a lot of hate for this but I'm comfy with that. Everything has it's time and place. Maybe it's time for Star Trek to take the eternal map and let new shows be created with the same kind of spirit..
