Things That Were Funny Once...

something that's not funny anymore is Matrix references.....it was hilarous in 2000-ish....but not anymore...and they still try it occasionally in some movies...

References to old commercials are stupid too.

Some guy breaks into a place by using his credit card in the lock "DOn't leave home without it!"
Or a guy hits another guy with a phone, saying "Reach out and touch someone."

The older character struggling with something technological and then some little kid or younger character walks in, and gets it working in seconds and then the older one gives a huff and walks away.

I know its true to life, but gee you calling anyone a liiiitle older than someone else technologically ill-equipped? Like all older people are dumb when it comes to anything "modern."

From a recent partial viewing of Fred Claus when Vince Vaughn is chased by the charity Santas: Adding an obvious "funny" song to a sequence to enhance its funniness. In this case, "Surfin' Bird". Additionally, adding sound effects from the Hanna Barbera library to live action pratfalls.

Also, does every kids (and sometimes adult) movie trailer have to feature some guy getting hit in the head or balls with a shovel, rake, frying pan or whatever accompanied by a big "bonk" sound effect and a funny groan or face.

No production should ever use the line "I could tell you...but I'd have to kill you" ever again, that line needs to be buried hard.

"Shaken.... not stirred." :sigh:

There seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece... a headline regarding about mass awareness of a certain avian variety...

Oh, have you not heard? It was my understanding that everyone had heard...
