As a licensed mental health counselor I'm bound by a federal (USA) law called HIPAA(Health Information Portability and Accountability Act). So, I stopped because I saw this person walking on a highway, possibly intoxicated or hallucinating. I started talking to him, but had my wife on the phone so she could contact authorities if needed. She posted to a local news social media page and people were like, "you can't listen in!" And she's like, "he's not a client. The law doesn't apply."What?
Apparently. That sounds so wrong. So what people would rather you just looked at the guy and moved on and forgot about him?

That's ridiculous, there's no way you she be getting in trouble for trying to help get some out of an obviously dangerous situation. Could you argue that you weren't acting in a professional capacity, you were just a concerned person trying to help someone in a dangerous situation? As a licensed mental health counselor I'm bound by a federal (USA) law called HIPAA(Health Information Portability and Accountability Act). But, no, people think I'm a poor practitioner because I stopped to help and get a guy off a 70 MPH/112 KPH road. And that can bring scrutiny and board review from the state licensing board
Sounds like an inner ear disruption or infection.Since my last post my condition has changed, now my dizziness/loss of coordination has gotten pretty constant, to the point that I'm struggling to walk. It's weird because get the visual effect you get after you've spinning around in circles, but I feel kind of dizzy. It's just like even the slightest movement throws me completely off balance, the closest I can come to describing it is like I'm walking in a ship on rough seas, or my mom's idea after I described it to her was like walking on a waterbed. I'm also giving headaches, most have been fairly mild, but a few times they've gotten severe. I'm avoiding soy for right now, to see if maybe that's what's causing it.
When you start casting doubts on a professional's ethics then it can make boards a bit twitchy. That's ridiculous, there's no way you she be getting in trouble for trying to help get some out of an obviously dangerous situation.
