Things that frustrate us all

I get that you don't want to go back, but that really sounds like something that should be looked at. :(
Yeah, I know. I've had issues related to my diet before, and so far I've made several changes since all of this started without getting better. I have a couple more I want to try, and I think if those still don't work, I might suck it up and go back into the doctor.

or it because the web site changed its look and it does not work properly for windows vista

Vista?!

Day 2 of the solar panel installation and the electrician informs me the only place the Emergency Power System can go is in the shared passage between the houses. This is the first I have heard of this - in fact, I realise I had been given no infomation whatsoever about the requirements of the EPS

Since the passage is shared , it requires the consent of neighbours, and since it is used, makes the EPS vulnerable to accidental damage. Both my neighbour and I have had to make a decision without any time for consideration.

Very underwhelmed by this company. I have complained but am not expecting a response.

Is your neighbour at least sympathetic and/or happy to proceed?

Just digging into my IMDB watch history for the past few months:

Saturday Night Fever is one I watched a couple of weeks ago, and it was not what I was expecting (it’s not a lighthearted disco dancing competition flick).

Kramer vs Kramer wasn’t bad, Annie Hall too.

I really enjoyed The Deer Hunter but it’s not for the squeamish.
I did not care for Deer Hunter. It's pacing was all over the place, and some parts really dragged like the wedding. I blame the Godfather.

So, I've been working the counter for four years now and I have this customer who is a regular who has been involved in a lawsuit against a company for the entire time I've been here.
He's doing work for Lyft, Uber, Door Dash, etc with his vehicle and, since he puts a lot of miles on it, the vehicle is in pretty regularly for maintenance.
He keeps saying that he's going to win a big payment once the whole thing is settled and that's the reason he's not looking for a regular job, because he'll never have to work again once it's settled, and, I want to tell him, "This thing has been dragging on for four+ years. You need help from your mom to pay your bills. You've probably spent more on attorney fees than you'll ever hope to get back in the settlement. Maybe it's time to walk away from it and get a regular job."

If you use the 4% rule, you need 25x your expenses to last you 30 years. How much money does this guy think he's going to get? And don't they want decent social security, which is based on the inflation adjusted earnings over 30 years whether they worked 30 or not?

Doesn't make sense to me.

It makes sense because Americans like sue for the most ridiculous things you can imagine. And before anyone says anything, the Mac Donalds coffee doesn't count. That poor woman's name got dragged through the mud because of them

I'm so sick and tired of this stupid eclipse, it's not worth the hype. I can't wait until it's over, I hope it will be a loooooong time before I ever hear the words eclipse again

Evergrowing pettiness. Now I've offended somebody at a table for handing a good luck card first to the person on my left instead of the person on the right. Not that this frustrates us all, but my God, a variation of this nonsense occurs practically every day.

I sign up for a COVID 19 booster at the local CVS. I arrive and the pharmacist informs me that Medicare requires a "diagnosis code" to cover paying for the shot. I leave without paying $268 and without the shot. The pharmacist says this is the first time he has seen Medicare require a diagnosis code for a vaccine. I have contacted my local congressional office and will drop off my privacy act waiver, so they can start an investigation into Medicare and the CDC to see why Medicare has stopped authorizing payment for approved vaccinations.

I only watched it once. Meh never felt the need to rewatch.

More RFK fuckery.

I know everybody is different, but... I was fortunate enough to be able to observe the total eclipse that happened in North America in April, 2024. I found it to be an incredible experience... if I was anywhere near religious, I might have even called it a religious experience! I thought it was well worth the effort to travel to the path of totality.

Maybe this is just a testament to how boring my life is normally. But I still look back on the experience very fondly. :)

(And yes, I know the path of totality today went through Spain, so it would have only been a partial for you, so not quite the same thing.)

Oh yeah, I forgot about the wedding. That was dull. I actually Googled whether the movie gets better after the wedding I was in such despairs of boredom.

I haven’t found many 70s movies I really love. I usually notice how they’ve influenced more modern movies, but apart from that I haven’t discovered many that I would rewatch compared to 80s and 90s movies.
