Don't go. Your peace of mind is more important.
That sucks. Do they know were the fault is in the wiring, or does it all have to be replaced? There's nothing better than finding out that the reason your bathroom lights have started flickering isn't because they were getting old (I was suspicious as they weren't the same age to begin with) but because the wiring in that entire wall is faulty. Now I have no lights in my bathroom, nor do any of the four electrical outlets on the same wall in my kitchen work anymore. I'll have to buy an extension cord just so that I could plug my washing machine into a socket on the opposite side of the room, but that doesn't spare me the wonderful prospects of having to share my cramped studio apartment with a bunch of handymen for who knows how long, especially if it's water damage that needs to be dried out first.
Nothing specific yet, I just noticed it while I went to take a shower; I admit I don't know much about wiring, so I don't really know how long it would realistically take to locate the fault, but it's making me really anxious. That sucks. Shut it off at the breaker and that will keep and faults from continuing on.Nothing specific yet, I just noticed it while I went to take a shower; I admit I don't know much about wiring, so I don't really know how long it would realistically take to locate the fault, but it's making me really anxious.

I live in a Socialist-era apartment block about 65 years old; my landlord had it last renovated including having it rewired about 20 years ago but he keeps complaining about its low quality every time he comes over to check the place. I wouldn't be surprised if this is related to their age. I already had to have water damage repaired in my bathroom caused by my shower not having been properly waterproofed 20 years ago.Shut it off at the breaker and that will keep and faults from continuing on.
How old is your place?
Yeah, electricians are also expensive. In my area there easily running $100 an hour for work.Just got home from work and had a call with my landlord. He called an electrician (which is good because it means he'll pay for it), but they're not available until "sometime in the second half of next week", and I should be lucky with even that because "electricians don't exactly grow on trees in this economy." There might also have been a bit of a miscommunication with the them as he initially forgot to mention the whole part about the circuit gradually fizzling out over a few days, so the electrician instantly concluded that one of my breakers was simply tripped from using too many appliances at once. My landlord promised to call them back to clarify, but who knows.
I was afraid of that. So, sounds like landlord is trying, but I would be wondering if the breaker went bad or if the wiring has loosened over time.I live in a Socialist-era apartment block about 65 years old; my landlord had it last renovated including having it rewired about 20 years ago but he keeps complaining about its low quality every time he comes over to check the place. Why do I have the feeling those parents are antivaxers? Seriously, fuck those people
Ones I see a lot is where they say, you'll never believe what some star from 10+ years ago looks like now, and they'll show a picture of a big obese person, while they were thin and fit when they were famous. A few times now I've looked the person up on Wikipedia and they'll have a picture of the person and they're still thin and fit, and very much not the person in the ad's picture.Misleading click-bait ads like the one showing up for me right now on this site, saying "so-and-so leaves behind a fortune," implying that said individual has passed although in reality still alive and well!
