Things that frustrate us all

Now speaking with the 8th rep from my telecom about an offer they mailed me 2 weeks ago that I just wanted activated. But somehow that takes 7 calls and then twitter DM support (and counting) to get right.

The giant compost bags in the garage for yard waste and what not have all gone bad. Just trying to open it tears it like tissue paper. Is it because they're old? Because of the temperature changes in the garage? What a waste.

Sometimes I'm frustrated that I don't have a car and a driver's licence, I had to take 6 busses today: 1 from my mom's home to my home, 2 from my home to work, 1 from work to my union and 2 from my union to my home

Old. They age very poorly, especially with temperature changes.

I use contractor bags which last a lot longer.

Here's another first: a complete senior-citizen stranger with a crutch in the library was apparently offended by my walking to a computer and grumbled ''Get out of my way, you fucking jerk.''

Good for him I had my taxes done yesterday, so my good mood still held. It was so stupid there was little point of getting mad about it. He was still curse-muttering to himself on the way out when I told him ''Have a nice day and watch your fucking language.'' No reply from Methuselass. Being harshly judged by ex-friends is bad enough. Now it's absolute strangers mouthing off for the simple sin of walking eight feet away.

I'm sure he had a bad day in comparison to me. That's why I'm not mad today. I hope they multiply. With an attitude like that, he's going to offend a less charitable victim in very little time, and there'll be one less of the biggest idiots in the world to date.

None of us really know the story of strangers we encounter. Based on what you said about his age, it's entirely possible his outburst was caused by the beginnings of dementia, or other such cognitive maladies. My own sweet, gentle, loving grandmother got rather nasty near the end. Unfortunately, we don't often get a say in what happens to us as we age.

Don't take it personally, and no need to wish ill upon him, either. It's entirely possible that if his younger self could meet his current self, younger him would be just as appalled at his behaviour as you were.

Not meaning to downplay your entirely warranted frustration at your treatment, of course. (And I'm sorry that you did get treated that way.) But it is possible it was something he didn't have much control over. Of course, some people are jerks when they're young, and continue to be jerks as they age. That could have been the case here too, but since he's just a random stranger that you encountered one day, there's really no way to know.

Just wanted to provide an alternate perspective from someone who has lived through this with a loved one.

Was he talking to himself? I sometimes call myself a "fucking jerk" when I make mistakes.

Agreed. It sounds like this gentleman has his own really strong struggles.

I got a “Denial of Claim” from my healthcare provider. Upon examination, I found that it said that the listed procedures are not covered by our dental provider. The listed claims were eye examination, lenses, frames, and so on; e.g., optical stuff. Any dental claims that I may have had would have been three years old, but I did get new glasses in November.

One phone call straightened it out. They said they’d had a lot of dental claims for vision services due to some system error. (Maybe some hacker added an “eye teeth” option.)

Edit: I should have noted that they made dental claims against a cardiologist! That's why it was strange.

He was cursing on the way out, apparently at somebody 20 feet in front of him. Not loud, but I've always had acute hearing.
I'm guessing he was talking FOR himself while insulting me. I doubt he'd chastise himself for getting in his own way. So on his way out I called him on it to get 5% satisfaction, shoveled his own words back to him, and he pretended not to hear. That was that. Hopefully, lesson learned. Whatever the circumstances, it's wearying to be painted as disrespectful by those who disrespect you first. That's no doubt occurred with virtually anyone. I was told a bit later he aggravated the librarians on duty as well, so I felt equally annoyed for them. For me, this will naturally dissipate in 48 hours tops.....providing the plane doesn't run out of coffee.

There's a short street in the neighborhood with commercial properties on both sides and a center turn lane to turn into said properties. However, drivers have been known to ignore the center turn lane and just sit there waiting to turn from their regular lanes, causing vehicles to get backed up behind them. And it happens all the time!

It's really a dick move when there's an athlete on a team you hate, that athlete is injured and will likely miss a good portion of the season, and you fucking CHEER at that news.

People who do that can just fuck right off.

Frustration on a sports-related note…

People at the gym who think that deodorant is optional, esp early in the morning. And then they pick the treadmill next to you to work out on… :barf::barf:

Thanks, Brother — I totally wanted to smell your Funk this morning.

Cheers,
