Things that frustrate us all

We were pushing 90s to 100s a week ago, but then it rained. I didn't mind it and framed in a door. Wife hates it though.

Ah, I see.

The problem with rain down here is it may cool down while it rains, but almost immediately afterward, the heat tends to be even worse. Humidity is not our friend here.

Especially for those of us with Frosty Paws.

Makes sense. Yeah, I probably would not do well down there.

But, up here, 90s to 100s I can still function.

I was in Kenya this year and temps in the mid 30's, well, they were hot, but I was fine (although I also got ridiculously dehydrated and it took awhile of constant drinking to level that out). Temps here in Ontario in the mid 30's though? Feel like I'm gonna die because of the humidity.

You know, I sometimes envy people who have the ability to function in heat. Considering I was born here and lived here my whole life, in 44 years of living you'd think I would have acclimated to the heat.

Not only did that not happen, my tolerance for heat has gotten worse. (Though it has gotten much, much hotter over the years.)

Yeah, I feel bad for my wife who struggles with it. Above 80 and she feels awful and can't hardly function aside from the basics. Not sure if it's just my stubbornness or what but I can step out in to 90 degrees and still work. For some I guess it never comes.

The phrase "a dry heat" seems to mean a lot more.

30s? I presume you mean celsius. Yeah, that's hot.

Humidity is always the killer, though.

They're operating on orders from management. Why freeze a room that nobody is in? Look at your electric bill in the summertime. Now multiply that by the number of rooms in the hotel.

I can understand that angle, but I still don't like the idea of housekeeping messing with my A/C. As I said, it's not their job. They are there to clean the room and then GTFO.

If, OTOH, the A/C is designed to only function when I'm in the room (I have encountered hotel A/C's like that, where the unit can sense if somebody is in the room), I can totally understand that. I wouldn't really even have a problem with it.

It happened again. Woke up early, went back to sleep, and even though I didn't end up sleeping in longer this time, my body still feels messed up.

I wish I could sleep in. My body is incapable of it. It's one of the reasons I always start my work shift at 6 AM. I'm gonna be up already anyway, so why not make myself useful?

I tried to eat a "ripe and ready" kiwifruit that, even although it's 5 days past its sell-by date is hard and sour - not "ripe" at all. That lead me on to thinking about "ripen at home" fruit that either goes bad without ever becoming edible or which just stays unripe seemingly for ever (my personal record is plums that I cooked after 3 months of waiting for something to happen). And that lead me to thinking about supermarket fruit and veg. which are generally unripe and tasteless.

I'd like to be able to get my fruit and veg. from the market but it's too far to go to regularly.

I'm frustrated beyond reason by the consistently pathetic Yankees offense, but I'm still going to wear my gear when I go to Boston in two weeks.

Yes, I said I'm frustrated, not ashamed. ;)

(Besides I like Red Sox fans, they're cool.)

Why can't my Kindle Fire translate Latin? This has been my frustration this whole month along with the ridiculous hot summer.
