Things that frustrate us all

My wordle streak ended for no reason. I didn't miss a day, I didn't get an answer wrong. It just ended at 60 and a new one started.

Did you clear your cookies? I believe that will also do it.

Between that and virtually all touchscreens almost never accepting my touch from the left hand, I'm starting to wonder if my left arm is a ghost.

Probably not a ghost, but definitely sinister! ;)

A guy in a nearby down started a fire in a neighborhood because he was using a propane torch to kill some weeds

:wtf:

whole damn planet bed went up in smoke.

That typo is sadly more accurate than one would wish. :(

And the morons that smoke in their cars and throw the cigs out the window. It’s not looking like I moved to Krypton today, though my sides are still frickin’ angry.
ETA: Just took a dose of albuterol and my throat is relaxing. I’m still amazed how I misread this for so long.
One of the trails where we walk our dogs goes under a highway, and right off to the side of it there was a big patch of burned grass and bushes where we think someone must have thrown cigarette out of their window and started it on fire. Everything out here has been bone dry since we haven't had significant rain in months so fires are really easy to start.
The weather has been driving me crazy today. The first thing we do in the morning is walk the dogs, and when I checked radar on the Weather Channel app, and it showed a big huge green blob of rain over our area about an hour later, so we decided to take them on a shorter than usual walk. It never rained at any time around our walk, so I checked again when we got finished to see if it would rain when I wanted to go out on my bike ride. It showed a bunch of rain all disipating as it came towards us so I went, and while I was out I got hit by a few random drops. When I took my break about half way through my ride, I checked the weather again, and it showed another another big green blob coming over us, so I when it started raining more, and a tiny bit steadier, I decided to just head home. It never did more than a light drizzle and stopped before I made it home. Once I got home I kept checking to see outside if was raining, to see if it might be safe to go back out on my bike. Ever time I went to the backdoor it was just barely starting to rain, so I'd decide to stay home, but then it would look like it stopped, so I'd take a closer look, and it would just barely start again. It did this about three or four time before I gave up.
Earlier this afternoon I checked the weather app, because I was thinking about going out now that the rain was supposed stop, and it showed a yellow blob of heavy rain going over us a couple hours later, so decided to stay home. It's now a couple hours later and there hasn't been a drop of rain and when I checked the weather app again, the radar showed no rain anywhere near us.

It just struck me as really odd. Even if we weren't in the middle of the disaster we're currently in, if I had to do some weeding, my first thought would definitely not have been "kill it with fire".
My thought as well, but I know people from different walks of life in that part of the state and… well… some do not consider things before they act.

Burning out weeds is a time honored tradition in the Pacific Northwest. I've read a lot of fun, and humorous articles, by local riders who enjoy such stories.

Is it stupid? Yes. Do people do it anyway? Yes.

I am well aware. And, to be fair, during the school year, a neighbor across the street from the preschool torched his weeds. He’s lucky he didn’t torch his house.

Halloween is the best season of all (I say this as this is my favorite holiday), but even I am taken aback by how far ahead Halloween stuff has been brought out. Early August? August?! Really, people?

What's next, we'll see Easter stuff in stores starting in November?

That’s like what was in It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown. Christmas stuff at Easter…

Don't be ridiculous.

It's going to be in January.

My dad used to hate how early he'd have to do Halloween candy when he worked retail.
