Things that frustrate us all

Supposedly people aren't returning to work and companies are desperate for employees, and yet I've put in about a bunch of applications over the last few months and I haven't even gotten a phone call from any of the places I sent them in to.
That's pretty standard. Companies complain they are desperate for new hires but seem to go out of their way to ignore applicants.

SUV driver who isn't in the left turn lane apparently realizes turning left is the way to go, tries to switch lanes with another SUV right beside them. Even thought right SUV can't see left SUV, apparently left SVU can see right SUV and honks. Accident avoided.

They must have skipped the lesson where you are taught that if you are too late to chnage lane to make your turning, proceed in the lane you are in and turn around when it is safe and legal to do so.

Have you seen videos of drivers who miss their intended off ramp, put the vehicle in reverse and then drive backward on the freeway to get back to it? And it happens all over the world!

Those are things that come with practice. You should learn--it will open lots of other opportunities for you.
As I've told people, better to know how and not use it than to need it and not know how. :)

Yeah, I have to wonder about that. Are they flooded with applications? I think not. And they aren't all specialized jobs like hair stylist. Something about the whole situation smells funny to me. I think a lot of these companies are complaining and then not hiring to try to get rid of some of the employee-friendly laws and trends (like a higher minimum wage) of the last few years.

Yes I have seen them, at what amazes me esp when it comes to Motorway off ramps is that most (in the UK) at least let you know at least a mile away what cities/towns the next junction leads to. Then you get often get a reminder at the half mile point. There is little excuse but I suspect a lot of it is down to must get infront.

My neighbors dog. Who has been pooping in my yard lately and who has now started to dig up my lawn. To say I'm pissed off right now, would be an understatement.

Yeah, I never finished college so I'm just going for retail jobs at places like grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot., ect.

It's the same way here in the US, and here some of them actually start warning several miles before you come to it, and keeping warning you up to 1/4 mile.

I've seen the "sweep" across multiple lanes to take the exit far too many times. I think it is more inattentiveness. They just aren't paying attention.

Shoulved have their license revoked permenantly if they are that inatentive that they miss several signpost for a junction, after all how attentive are they when there are far more potential hazards around them.

Not finishing college does NOT relegate you to only retail! Check out state and city jobs. Also, if you don't mind florescent lights, sign up with temp agencies for office jobs - you can get paid while building your resume.

Yeah, I've looked at non-retail jobs too. I tried to put in an application for a job at the city library up the street, but I didn't have references and that was a requirement.

I've looked at other types of job on Monster and Indeed, but I haven't come across anything else that I'm comfortable doing. I even looked at farm and ranch jobs a couple times, since I've fallen in love with farm animals, but they're all too far away and most of them want experience with those kind of animals.

Some good news---the house is finally FINISHED!! All the walls are repaired, painted, trim fixed, everything.

The only thing left to be done is the refrigerator. The huge Whirlpool (re: total crap) fridge that just died a month after we moved in is still sitting, dead as a doornail in the kitchen. The little replacement fridge we bought is keeping us going, for now, but the warranty company still hasn't replaced our fridge. Because it was a brand new fridge, there aren't any replacement parts and there's a shortage of appliances, or say they say.

I bought a new game for my Nintendo DS and it doesn't work at all. My DS doesn't recognize the game in it. It says that there is no game inserted. All my other DS games work fine.
Grrrrr!

I stepped on some cactus thorns while my mom and I were hiking in the desert (posted pics and videos over in the animal thread if you to see what else we found), and one of them went all the way through my shoe and into my foot, and now it hurts every time I walk on it. It's not enough to need to go to the doctor or to even stop walking, it's just enough to be annoying and make me cringe every time I step with that foot.
