Things that frustrate us all

I returned two separate orders to Amazon at the same time to the same location. Just got credit back for one, but the other is delayed. How?
When I return stuff via our local post office I get the refund as soon as I drop it off, don't even have to wait for it to be received.

The question shouldn't be, "Why did your website allow me to book an appointment at 9am for tires when you don't have the tires in stock and they're coming from your warehouse and you won't see them until 1pm?"

The question should be, "Why did you not respond to my voice-mail and text telling you to call the store so we could reschedule the appointment."

I now don't care that you're going on vacation tomorrow and you needed tires.

You should have planned this a few days ago by calling to see if we had tires in stock, and, if not, we could order them.

The lack of planning and follow thru is on you.

Sounds like all those "entitled customer" videos on YouTube. I've never worked in retail or customer service, but I suppose stuff like that really happens all the time.

In other news, my computer crashed and automatically rebooted three times after the latest Windows update. Then, when trying to perform a system restore, the damn thing froze and gave me the black screen of death. I'm waiting to hear from Best Buy's Geek Squad about when it will be fixed.

UPDATE: Picked up my computer today and everything seems to be OK.

My nephews-in-law are staying over and we're all going out tonight for my sister-in-law's birthday dinner.

GOD GOOD, I HATE MY SISTER-IN-LAW. She is bat-shit crazy, has been a horrible parent, and never, EVER shuts up. She literally talks non-stop, all day, every day and it's always hateful, bigoted, religious nonsense. I wouldn't be surprised if she talked in her sleep. She's a hoarder, never cleans anything or throws away garbage, and her house is now about to be condemned. That's why my husband's nephews are here--there's nowhere else for them to stay in town.

One nephew has his own place in another city and the other nephew lives about 30-40 minutes from us. But their mother has screwed them up so badly, it's horrifying. At my wedding years ago, one of my sisters asked about "the woman with the mentally disabled children." I couldn't figure out who she was talking about. Then she pointed at my sister-in-law and her kids. I had to tell her, "They're not disabled. They just have really bad parents."

Now I have to go sit at this dinner for hours tonight--she blathers on non-stop so it's always HOURS--and pretend that I don't hate every minute of it.

UGH.

Why pretend? If she's really that bad, others feel the same. Life's too short to be around toxic people. Call out her bigotry, bigots hate it when you do that.

Watch and see who agrees with you.

The PC police in TTRPG gaming. I think, this is why I mainly play wargames as I've gotten older such as ASL or Battletech.

No idea why there is any controversy over the Dark Sun setting. I bought the original box set at GEN CON when it came out. The environmental stuff is spot on for what's going on today.

This is my frustration for the day.

I only stumbled upon it after I found the old novels at my public library that I haven't read since they came out. Might reread them next year. And then I went down the rabbit hole and read all of these ridiculous posts about all of the problems with the setting. So glad I grew up gen x and didn't have this nonsense back then.

Okay, I just stood behind one of IMO the most rudest person in a long time.
I was in line at the bank waiting to make a deposit and the woman in front of me was playing Candy Crush on her phone the entire time she was in line and even when she got to the teller she didn't look up from her phone, just handed her the deposit and said "Yes", "No" to the questions the teller asked.
Didn't even look up or make eye contact the entire time she was at the counter.
Didn't even say "Thank You".
I really wanted to rip that phone out of her hands and throw it across the lobby and yell "Pay Attention".

Also, I don't know if you can see it on your phone or not, but that black banner means the poster you were replying to is sadly no longer with us.
It's a bit small on my phone screen, but now I can see the "In Memoriam" banner. Did I commit a faux pas in trying to communicate with a ghost?
