Things that frustrate us all

Poor Gary :( It's perhaps the Paracetamol it contains. It's been known to cause headaches instead of curing them.
Have you tried lemon peel yet? It's an old remedy I discovered in a Georgette Heyer novella of all sources. Works nicely, though: you just put a slice of fresh lemon peel on your forehead or temple (a squeezed out lemon half will do just as well). I was very sceptical at first but in despair one is ready to try everything, so I tried it out on a sinus headache with surprising results. It's nicely cooling and refreshing like peppertmint oil but far less aggressive on the eyes and skin. For me it also works with tension headaches and minor migraines, but everyone has different headaches and a different organism so that not everything works for everyone. Still, it might be worth the try (unless you are allergic to citrus oil/fruit, of course).

Small comfort but I've a migraine, too, since 3 am this morning. It's the approaching low pressure area, I suppose (the forecast predicts rain for tomorrow). So far it's only a 4 on a 1-10 scale - not strong enough to make it to 'argh of the day' :D

My frustrations: Button fly jeans, the lack of reliable transportation, and insomnia.

The last is the worst. I've switched to decaf, I'm on 5mg melatonin, two cups of Valerian chamomile tea, a tall glass of warm milk, a hot bath, a CBD edible, half a bottle of wine and a big fat Kush bowl and I'm still wide awake. By all rights I should be in a coma.

Have you tried working out?

The annoying thing about button flies is thinking you’re wearing them when you’re not, and only realising after you’ve torn the zip open and destroyed the mechanism.

So, a year ago I had a problem with mice in my apartment, but when I bought a kitchen trash can with a lid on it, that problem went away.

Saw no traces of mice for like a year, but now it seems like there's another one. First it was clawing open my rice bags on the top shelf. I moved these to a closed cabinet, and now it's not finding any food, but it still feels the need to trash around in my closet (That has no food in it) at 2AM knocking things off the shelves. CRASH, look in the closet, see a plastic cup filled with arcade tokens all across the floor. NO mouse, you can't eat arcade tokens.

Not sure what else I can do if I've already blocked off all the food sources. Traps have never worked.

How do the traps not work? Catch nothing, or they eat the bait off without triggering them?
Either problem may be solved by switching up your bait. I always found peanut butter (creamy Jif, to be specific) to be very effective.

A pet Cat

I love cats, only thing stopping me from getting one at the moment is laziness about the effort to take care of one and not having any particularly good place in my tiny apartment for the litterbox.

(No place to put it in my apartment where the smell wouldn't go everywhere in my apartment).

Try lavender essential oil and push the melatonin to a higher dosage. I have taken as much as 50 mg at night. I'm on propranalol, which depletes the body of melatonin. I had to start taking it after the propranalol messed with me.

I had a mouse in my kitchen once, so I hid everything that was edible, even the candles! After a few days, I found its body under a piece of furniture. I'd like to think that it died of starvation.

I got one with a piece of chocolate once, for some reason it didn't like my cheese! It was BRIE!

I just have never seen a mouse go for a trap. Maybe not using the right traps.

The mouse won’t die of starvation because there are neighbors in the same building, and I have no control over their habits.

What makes it worse is I have a touch of anxiety. So when I know there’s a mouse, every little sound I hear at night causes my brain to obsessively qualify it as ‘mouse’ or ‘non-mouse’ which keeps me up for hours because the neighbors are walking around upstairs and multiple neighbors have noisy AC units.

I was at the hospital today. Every time I attempted to leave an elevator, one or more people tried to walk through me instead of waiting for the car to empty first. It didn't bother me that much, but it has to be frustrating to people who have trouble walking.
