Things that frustrate us all

T2. I've had good results trying to keep my meals to below 6g of sugar (I've lost 15 pounds in the last 4 months), but I REALLY want to be able to eat the extremely sugary things I like (It does not help that I have a serious sweet tooth) without waking up in the morning to find my sugar at 180.

So are you on any form of medication? Just looking at the conversion there, 180 isn't all that bad, my glucose levels aren't much higher than that right now.

Yeah, I'm on Metformin and...something whose name I can't remember right now.
I was told I should be aiming for <125 in the morning. Even lower is better, and something like 75 as a fasting glucose.
I did get my A1C to 5.8 down from 7.7 three months earlier. According to what I've read, that's almost like not having it at all.

Refuge, would you like a recipe for peanutbutter kisses with a chocolate filling?

What frustrates me today is that weekends are so short nowadays. They used to make them much longer when I was a kid.
If it is no trouble :) Mum used to make jam kisses before she gave up cooking.

no prob. I'll PM it tonight (am at my office atm).
My mom threatened that she'll go into "cooking pension" next year when she turns 80. The idea of dad cooking is both scary and amusing :D

That's awesome! I got down to 4.8 in January from 6.1 in September. I take Metformin, too (I have an insuline resistance but no fully developed diabetes 2 yet). Did you, too, have digestional problems with M during the first months? I was on the verge of going crazy when my pharmacist recommended herbal drops that worked miracles on my belly =) I think I'll nominate her for the Merit Cross! :adore:

I used to take Metformin for my borderline type 2 diabetes, but my doctor switched me to Actos (Pioglitazone) because of my gastritis and small bowel inflammation.

(They're still trying to diagnose that small intestine issue. Best option at this point is to do a colonoscopy and try to navigate to the terminal ileum and grab a bit of that inflamed tissue for biopsy -- to go in via the back door, as it were.)

Not getting a text back when you're concerned for someone's wellbeing. And they're just fucking ignoring you because they can't be arsed to text back "I'm fine"

Fuck people who are like that.

I couldn't agree more. Where there is a weapon it will enevitably be used. Only a weapons ban can lead to less people being killed.

You're not thinking GOP, if you can't prevent all of them you shouldn't try to prevent any of them. From an outside point of view thoughts and prayers don't seem to be working, time to try something else.

As for the excuse it's too soon to talk about it (presumably because people are in mourning) what time frame has to pass before it's not too soon? If I were a Parent scratch that I don't have to be a parent, I would want to know what action was being taken to prevent events like this from happening again.

Some days I have more energy than others.

Sometimes people ask me how things are going when I don't feel it's any of their business or it would take too long to explain and I don't want to get into it.

My job situation is frustrating. I'm a Videographer but I can't break out of freelance work and become staff somewhere.

I'm forced to see people talk about or post about politics whether I'm in the mood for it or not. I wasn't bombarded with it all the time with Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush, or Obama; but now...

I can't stand winter. I'm inside more because I hate the cold, thus less active, and now my jeans are too tight around the waist. I need to use the exercise bike. I should put it in front of the TV and make sure I stay on it.

I think that's it. Probably not, but I'll stop there.

{{{{{{{Garth}}}}}}} feel free to rant on - that's what this thread is there for! And letting off steam already helps a bit in my experience.

Maybe you could power the TV with your bike. That'd force you to do sports. And how about starting an explicitly free-of-politics thread?
At the risk of frustrating you even more: what is a Videographer?

my *arrgh!* of the day: on top of a very tight schedule for this spring I just got yet another 8 sampling sites added to the list. Naturally, all 8 have top-priority. There goes my spring vacation *sigh* (but maybe I can wrest a prolonged weekend out of my boss - I'd love to make a trip to Holland and have a look at their spring flowers)

High school and middle school sports, local news stories for public access TV, and government meetings (at the town level). I also do editing. Sometimes I'll do work for (very) independent films and commercials.

The films usually don't pay because many of them don't really have the budget. So some people probably think I'm insane for doing them. I've been involved with independent films for the past five years. I've acted in a few. None of them are out (yet) but acting is fun. I want to do more of it. I'm in the middle of directing a second short film of my own (I wrote them as well) but we're on hiatus until the weather gets nice out again and we have to work around people's work (or school) schedules.

.. when you're sitting somewhere & someone next to you is eating a sandwich in an irritating manner & not only that but taking a ridiculously long time over it.. like 25 minutes.. you can't focus because of the annoyingness of each bite & see it every time in the corner of your eye.. you try to hide them from view with your hand but just when you think it's over u pull ur hand down & they take another bite

am I the only one?????

The mundane seems a conundrum to you, apparently.

hmm.. mundane would mean eating the sandwich in a couple of minutes like most people & not being annoying about it, or at least that's what I thought lol

Now she's jogging her foot up & down every 10 seconds! :brickwall:

Everyone else is fine

omg now she's tapping her daughter's shoulder in a really inconsiderate manner trying to get her attention, while her daughter is busy trying to write something.. even the daughter looks annoyed by her behaviour now... :guffaw: ok ok I'm not alone.
