Personally, I have better things to do than sit around for 25 minutes, watching (or trying not to watch) someone else eating a sandwich.
I like to take my time eating, but even I don't need 25 minutes for a sandwich.

That wasn't mocking. If you're that affected by the sound of someone eating a sandwich, the best way to deal with it is not to sit there and continue watching and listening to it for 25 minutes. If it is misaphonia it’s a real psychological issue, don’t mock.
Wow, [Garth], your profession sounds like fun and I can very well understand why you don't want to give it up. A friend of mine is a post production coordinator and sound specialist. He has the same problem as you: no long-term contracts, so like you he works as a freelance mainly for indie productions (you might perhaps have seen Black Scorpion where he did the sound editing in the first 6 epis). If you like, I can get the two of you into contact.
I thought it was the shop keepers joy to scratch off that partPeople who scratch off every where on scratch cards except for the numbers needed to validate the card.

I'm unable to remember people's names. Literally, I'm hopeless. Doesn't have anything to do with age, either, I've always been this way and I'm only 45 with no other signs of early dementia. I'm just glad I'm not in sales or in any profession where my problem could literally affect my income. For me, it's more an embarrassment than anything else. Especially as I come from a culture where people go out of their way to avoid addressing each other by name. This means I can get away with my lack more often than not, but I also don't hear the name often enough to make it stick.
