Things I Noticed While Watching 20 Minutes of JJ Abrams’ Star Trek

The corvette had it's top up in the beginning of the chase and down a couple of seconds later,

To me, these are things I'm personally more interested in and are more fun rather than "Kirk served on the Farragut and Republic and not on the Enterprise!"

And yes, good observation! And a couple of shots the sun is at a different direction. Parts look high noon, parts look like near sunset. Just small gaffes!

As has been said a few times now: It's not the whole sequence.

I'll be sorely disappointed if Star Trek reminds me of Armageddon in any way. That's one movie I couldn't make myself sit through, and if Abrams is aiming for the same audience with a similar film, he's lost me for sure.
Armageddon is a Michael Bay-movie and only co-written by Abrams.
OK. So what's your point?

This sums it up pretty nicely:

And the writers of Star Trek also wrote Transformers... but I won't hold that against them ;)
Yeah, but Transformers was directed by Michael Bay. Michael Bay could ruin the Bible and make even God and Jesus hate it.

Considering how bad Michael Bay is, I thought Transformers actually turned out OK. That right there should show how good Orci and Kurtzman are. :bolian:

They also wrote M:I3, which was also directed by Abrams. Out of the three, that's the only one I can watch and I actually enjoy it. That's even considering that everything else Tom Cruise has been in since Days of Thunder makes me want to crawl under a couch and die.

Although I swore never to watch a new Tom Cruise film again, I guess I have to see M:I3 now just to get a good feel for Abrams' style...
