Why is it not the same? She was in command of a ship, and at the very end they allowed her to retire. I appreciated that happy ending, something the first season of Picard didn't do.

Would I watch Star Trek: Janeway? Sure. I don't really want it though. I'm good with PRO being the VOY S8 back in the Alpha Quadrant series. I would have liked Harry Kim being first officer though.

Sure people CAN be sanctimonious, but it doesn't mean they have to. Particularly when people are just thinking up ideas on what a show might look like. You're shutting people down saying none of that would happen on a show that doesn't exist and no one said it would exist.

If you want to change the direction of Star Trek, go speak to the writers. Fans have the right to discuss what they'd like to see in a theoretical show.

I don't think every Captain needs their own show, and I think that if a Star Trek: Janeway was produced after ST:PIC, people would start asking about Star Trek: Sisko and all the others.
