I genuinely believe that a Star Trek: Janeway series ought to be produced. Imagine Admiral Janeway in her later years, dealing with the consequences of her experiences in the Delta Quadrant and overcoming new obstacles in a very different Federation. Much like Picard, but with more in-depth, intimate tales of legacy, repercussions, and what it truly means to lead after a lifetime of sacrifice. That's how Kate Mulgrew still has the strength and presence to make Janeway come to life. It would be amazing to watch her take on long-standing foes, lead Starfleet through adversity, and deal with the spectres of Voyager's voyage. I would absolutely watch that show.

I liked Picard and Prodigy, so I expect I'd also like a Star Trek: Janeway.

I am not opposed to that possibility, but...Tuvok is my favorite Voyager character. Plus, there are so few (long-running) excellent portrayals of full Vulcans.

Mulgrew could probably emerge from it with her dignity slightly more intact than Stewart managed, but still, Chabon and Matalas are both so prone to coming out with supernaturally bad shit that no actor could make it work.
What I would support is Star Trek: Kim, because watching Wang's acting skills collide against Chabon's un-deliverable dialogue would be some of the best television ever made.

No. I'm a big fan of the Kathryn Janeway character. But I don't want to subject her character to something like the "PICARD" series. Not after what I had seen.

The thing with a Janeway show is, much like with Picard where the audience wanted and got the TNG reunion, the audience sees the crew as an integral part of who Janeway is and will want a reunion. And as there’s already been a Janeway show of sorts with PRO, the character study of Janeway would morph into more of a VOY/PRO crossover show.
If they do that, then they have something to work with.
- Janeway, Chakotay, and Doctor as they were last seen from PRO
- Tom Paris as he was in LD
- Tuvok as he was in PIC
- Kim and Naomi as they’ve been pitched for PIC S3/Legacy
- Maybe add Zero, Gwyn, Ma'jel and another character from PRO
A Janeway show might be able to explore a few ideas that were never explored on VOY – a Silver Blood invasion of Earth, Tuvok’s rebellious daughter, Janeway on trial for her actions in the DQ, the grown son of Seska and Cullah, Species 8472 invading the Federation - and that might carry a Janeway show for a few seasons. But I suspect the writers will do the season long mystery box threat-of-the-season arc for every season they have, instead of breaking it up into smaller arcs. And the writing always leaves something to be desired in these P+ live action Star Trek shows.

Yup. Prodigy was like a Janeway version of Star Trek Picard but not grim. I just wish we could have gotten two more voice cameos during PRO's too-short run...
1. Jonathan Frakes. So that he could legitimately say he was involved in EVERY Star Trek.
2. Garrett Wang. So that Harry could actually be promoted on-screen.
Unlike PIC, PRO wasn't about 'What's Janeway's life like after 20 years?' It was about a group of kids who find a starship and have adventures, and Janeway (the real one, not the hologram) was ancillary to that premise.

If his promotion has nothing to do with PRO's story, what would be the point? That kind of schlock would have been done better in LDS (and they still chose not to do it even with that multiple Kim episode.)
