They Deserved More Screen Time

I've just finished watching DS9's "Emissary" when something struck me: what characters in Trek did you really like but who never got that much screen time?

For me it has to be Kai Opaka, played by Camille Saviola. She just carries herself in a way that I totally buy her as the religious leader of Bajor, the kind of person an angry mob would stop to listen too.

She only had four episodes (two of which after her 'death'). I think that if they'd had her in a few more with her featuring, then her loss would have had even greater impact.

Anyone else care to weigh in with who they wanted to see more of?

Personally, I would have loved to see some more Joe Carrey. I liked the guy, and his death did not nearly have the impact it was supposed to have.

I agree about Arjin. I also would have liked to see more of Berlinghoff Rasmussen and Thadiun OKona.

I think both of them got some play in the novels, FWIW. Arjin doesn't even have an entry at Memory Beta.

I always wanted to see more of Sonya Gomez on TNG. IIRC, she only appeared twice and i wish she had made more appearences.

I don't hate you for that. Its your opinion and one I understand. Personally I never found her fanatical, she always struck me as someone who'd be good to hug

Sonja Gomez and Robin Leffler. Each got two episodes. I love both actresses, and was really hoping to see them more.

Dr. Selar! The gorgeous Suzi Plakson without a funny forehead! One appearance, and one PA announcement wasn't enough.

I agree with this choice, especially after reading ST:SCE. I also would have liked to have seen more of Lt Kevin Riley, in either the original TOS series, or in the TOS movies.

Dr. M'Benga, the other doctor on Kirk's Enterprise--and a specialist in Vulcan physiology. Seen only twice--despite all the times Spock needed medical treatment.

You'd think he would have been consulted in "Journey to Babel" and "Spock's Brain" or "Operation: Annhilate" or . . . .

Kevin Riley was always one of my favorite "secondary" characters. In retrospect, I'm still surprised he didn't become more of a presence on the show.
