Spoilers The X-Files: Season 11

I'm glad to hear this. I hope that they leave it be.

Yeah. For me The X-Files for me ended with Season 8's amazing ten-part serialized myth arc (swapping out "The Gift" for "Via Negativa", of course), which not only was an impressive creative rebound from Seasons 6-7 but also felt like the epic miniseries event send-off the show deserved. "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster" and "The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat" were fucking terrific, though.

Word. Only I liked s9 and IWTB. s10 and s11 were all over the map and a mess by comparison. I'd rather forget they happened for the most part, the eps you mentioned along side 'Home Again' and 'This' for me.

Not to disappointed, I enjoyed most of the episodes to a degree, but they weren't anywhere near as good as the original run.

While I think this new version hasn't been as close as good except for 2 Darrin Morgan ep's and the Black Mirror type ep but it's still kind of sad for me to see it end. I don't want the show to go out this way. If they could could just get one good season to really do it justice and that would be a fine way to end it.

I get where you're coming from, it would have been nice if we had one send-off season to do it justice, but I don't even think that could be achieved at this point. Seasons 6/7 didn't really give any satisfactory conclusion to anything that they tried to, season 9 definitely didn't either, and neither did the second movie.
I completely understand Gillian Anderson's position, I wouldn't want to dedicate so much time to flogging a dead horse. The sad fact is there are much more fulfilling and stimulating things to do than continuing an old TV show.

I liked Darin's a lot, but I was no fan of the Black Mirror like ep. It was ok, but just that. Nah. I'm not really sad about it. Given how fans and shippers were treated by Fox/1013 in part and CC (gas lit and bullied by them). I'm glad it's done.

I wish as well, but with Chris in charge, I doubt it would be any different than what we got this time. And it was possibly hinting (via the St. Rachel foreshadowing) that Scully could die in child birth (Rachel in the bible did) (it's why I never want to see a season 12). That made me really NOT like Plus One at all, looking back at it. And it made me appreciate All Things that much more. That episode is far more thoughtful and well done.

Agreed there. The Truth did that in part for me along with IWTB. That said, 6/7 were far better acting wise along with 8/9 and even IWTB. I still recognized the characters there. Who they were in these seasons for the most part were shells and it's sad to see.

I think they got some great acting out of Gillian Anderson in I Want to Believe, but the script for that movie was terrible. I hope they come back for one last hurrah in a few years.
