We missed something upstream a bit. After Garak's line of "Ah, but I got off several cutting remarks which no doubt did serious damage to their egos," the following takes place:

BASHIR: Garak, this isn't funny.
GARAK: I'm serious, Doctor. Thanks to your ministrations, I am almost completely healed. But the damage I did to them will last a lifetime.

Then it proceeds as shown here. Also, the last line in full is:

GARAK: You're right, as always, Doctor. They must have mistaken me for someone else.

[Captain Sisko's Office]

KIRA: The Klingon ships keep cloaking and decloaking, so it's impossible to get an exact count, but so far we've been able to identify at least twenty different warships in the vicinity of the station.

 

[Leandar]

Jadzia (over com): Captain, we're receiving a priority one distress call from the freighter Xhosa.

 

[LeadHead]

Kira: Kassidy's Ship?

 

[Leandar]

Sisko: She left the station an hour ago. Put her through.

 

[LeadHead]

Kassidy: (on Siskos Desktop Viewer) This is he Freighter Xhosa to Deep Space Nine! We're under attack by-

 

[Leandar]

Jadzia: Her signal's been jammed.

 

[LeadHead]

Sisko: Get a fix on her location. Tell the crew on The Defiant to man their stations. We'l meet you on the Bridge.

Sisko and Kira step onto Turbolift.

Defiant.

 

[Mark de Vries]

Defiant bridge.

DAX: Forward scanners are detecting the Xhosa at bearing zero one seven mark three four six.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIRA: I'm picking up another ship. It's got a tractor beam on the Xhosa.

 

[Leandar]

Sisko: On screen.

 

[Brian]

KIRA: A Klingon ship.

 

[Mark de Vries]

DAX: I can't get through to Kasidy. They're still jamming her communications.

 

[LeadHead]

Sisko: Hail the Klingon Vessel.
