Yes, they respond everytime you bring it up and try to explain to you that it's not the point of the show. Somehow, you just don't get it.
Somewhat seconded. It doesn't matter what caused the ZA (WA) which, as pointed out, is not the point or the focus of the show. Nor are our characters in a position or have the resources to find out such a thing or do anything about it. They're our "everyman" they're you and me. If something disastrous happened that ended civilization it a cataclysmic, cascade, event that started half a world away and it just all fell like dominoes chances are chances are the vast majority of us would never know how or why and would more concern ourselves with surviving. Besides, what more explanation is needed beyond "some kind of disease that spread throughout the population" how is that any different than "er.... Venus probe and radiation or something."
What else is there to know? Some kind of contaminate infected the entire population that causes minor reactivation of the brainstem upon death, the pathogen is able to slow the decomposition process by some means. Do we really need more?
And I'm pretty sure
TREK_GOD you are the one to most often bring this up and cite it as a problem, I hardly ever see anyone else concerned with the particulars of how the WA started and the means of operation for the Walker Virus. Most of us, kiddingly, point out things like grass being mowed, the roads still being in decent condition after being exposed to the elements for two years now without being maintained, bullets being common (though that's starting to be addressed) and gasoline still being viable.
There's zombies. Somehow, someway, there's zombies. End of story. Our focus is more on the survival of these characters as they deal with other living people. The walkers are mere nuisance at this point.
I agree with Chris Hardwick, it's been a fantastic B-Season. And a stellar introduction of Negan in his extended monologue/scene there. Very well played and tense. Props to Jeffery Dean Morgan. I guess they replaced Negan's use of "fuck" with "shit."
Not too surprised on the cliffhanger after all of the build up.
Not sure on who to speculate on who ended up being the victim of Lucille. Rick is pretty much immune by virtue of being the main character; it's his story afterall. I sort of doubt it'll be Michonne or Maggie. I highly doubt it'll be Daryl. Part of me wants to think along the lines of what Negan "wants" and if he wants The Group to "produce" for him it'd be shooting himself in the foot to get rid of the stronger members of the group. I almost expect a cop-out and for it to be Aaron. You get the benefit of the tension of this scene and how much business this character means without having to lose a character who "matters" and they've not really used Aaron much at all so killing him off won't upset viewers too much like killing off one oft he main characters like Glenn or Daryl; short of that I'd say Abraham in order to have him "catch up" with his character's death in the comic and it'd cap off his "arc" for the season.
And we also are introduced to The Kingdom and Morgan's "circle of life" thing actually plays off here correctly considering the Kingdom person spared last week was able to come back here to rescue Morgan and Carol; also interesting to see Morgan drop the "all life is precious" thing in order to save Carol, whom I was expecting to die as the episode moved on either from her wounds or a walker bite.
Was it me or did the Kingom-ite seem to not be wearing actual armor but, like, football shoulder pads/protection painted to look like armor?
Going to be a long wait for October.
