I wonder why Michonne and the other people in the pet store didn't slather themselves up with walker guts and just walk on down the road?
Probably a "more trouble than it's worth" notion, particularly in the situation they were in. First of all, they would need enough walker-guts to cover everyone and they didn't have that much available and that's assuming the more naive Alexandrians would go along with the idea. Then once covered in the guts there's still a number of issues.
First, they have to move at a slower pace which just opens them up to not getting where they want to be before the camouflage wears off or loses effectiveness.
Secondly, at least one of them was injured and bleeding, it's possible his own blood could cause an attraction that couldn't be concealed by the walker guts.
When this has been done in the past the person covered in the guts still has to remain somewhat incognito, which when it comes to several people moving along is probably hard to do especially when two people are injured and have to be helped along by the uninjured. The inexperienced people would probably also struggle to stay quiet and not make sudden movements.
I think doing the guts thing just opens them up to more potential problems.

What if there is a man hole cover under that dumpster?? Not sure how he would open it though.
I don't remember if it was addressed on the show but in the comic the reason Michonne had two walkers chained up was to keep others away.
Well, it would not be the first "great escape" by WD characters. Slow Tyreese was completely surrounded by walkers when the car was stuck in walker parts, but he just stood there, and hammered his way free. The walkers were closing in--some within arm's length, if I recall, but he survived.
The difference being, though, that Tyreese had full range of motion and a hammer. Glenn is pinned under a headless guy surrounded by hundreds of hangry zombies and a dumpster. Assuming it is Nicholas' insides being torn out and Glenn is safely cocooned underneath, the zombies shouldn't stop tearing apart Nicholas' body once they reach his spinal cord. They should continue eating and tearing until they reach dirt, which, unfortunately, is under Glenn. At the very least, the way Nicholas fell should have left Glenn's extremities and head in full munching range.

While I agree that it was probably Nicholas getting torn apart, I think it would strain credibility to say that Glenn gets out of this without a scratch or a bite. Plus, they already pulled that fake-out last season, when Nicholas attacked him in the woods and left him with a bunch of walkers all over him. He miraculously survived that, so pulling the same thing with the same character would just be cheap.
This show has never pulled it's punches with character deaths, and having Glenn survive this unscathed would rob the show of its drama.
Agreed. Also if he did go under the dumpster how is that going to protect him for long? He would definitely get bitten just trying to make it to the dumpster. Nope I think he is dead and the producers just want the fans to endlessly debate it for a few weeks. It keeps the ratings up.

Then explain that leaked photo where Steven is in costume (note the holster), alongside an actor looking almost exactly like a WD comic character who has yet to be introduced on the TV show?

Glenn is alive whatever way he survived. They will show us in an upcoming episode. Besides Steve has been in character on the set locations filming this season well beyond episode three filming back in June.

Glen also has the Flare gun, so he goes under the dumpster a bit camouflaged from the guts then shoots off the flare gun to get the Zombies to move away.
Why do people keep saying Nicholas' guts/blood are camoflauge?
