The Walking Dead Season 4

I'm starting to wonder if the Governor is at the prison because he was sent there by his former henchman, rather than because he's out for revenge.
You might be onto something there

That's what i'm thinking too...which made their final scene of that episode with the governor, juxtaposed with the next episode, brilliant directing.

^That would do it.

I wached the episode twice and both times, the girl at the beginning sounded like Carol. Anyone else hear her? I have a feeling the flashback episodes will end with Carol joining the Governor. She didn't meet him yet but if they get together, and she finds out who he is, would she kill him or learn from Rick and not kill (which would suck in this case).

What was the voice you're talking about, in which episode?

Also, for timing...i think Carol would run into Martinez' group while the Governor is out scouting the prison. If he's still using the pseudonym, Carol wouldn't recognize it's the governor (surely she knows by description). But Martinez -- not sure if he would have stood out and/or Karen would have talked about him much. (Would she have even realized he was alive? Assuming she ran as soon as she knew the Governor drove off, she probably didn't stop to see if there were survivors....or at least just shouted then ran).

Also, from the AMC previews, i wonder if Sam (the guy from episode 4 this season) is involved in next week's episode.

Look forward to the rest of this season.

Just one thing I wonder though, does the Governor have Walker repellent?
Those scenes where he's walking down the road and no walkers are bothering him and when he is burning down Woodbury standing there in his kewl pose, Walkers are just passing him by.
He probably smelled like a dead man by then. :rommie:

I thought the exact same thing.

After this episode, I really hope so.

The last played episode with the governor.

The dialog suggests it was the tough acting sister he came across in the house. His last line was "I barely made it out alive" The very next line when they're in the room together is "You look like you barely made it out alive"

^But that could have been the second time he said that (to Carol) before flashing back to the tough acting sister's response.

I hope I'm wrong, but I just have this bad feeling that the producers of the show looked at how Ben Linus became a popular frenemy on 'lost' and are trying to do the same thing with the governor, making him less an evil mastermind and more an anti - hero

Given the last episode (watched it again last night) I have no problem with this. Adds another layer to the tragedy and differs from the comics, which is a good thing. I still think he dies at the end of the season one way or another.

I really liked this episode. I reacted towards the end fearful FOR the Governor!

Good one, Show!

That was my thought too.
As for the episode. I thought it was ok, probably the weakest one of the season so far for me. The only thing that made it interesting was the quality of the acting.

That would be fine with me, because I thought the last episode was great.
I agree 100%. I thought it was a great episode but I have a soft spot for shows making the baddies turn good. Redemption for the Governor won't be easy because he was such a glorious bastard last season, but it's doable. This was a good start.

I also thought that Talking Dead after the show was the best one yet. David Morisey is awesome. You can tell he really digs his character. He gave a ton of insight. Then the end with poor Chris Hardwick's father... :( He was right on; don't take your family for granted.

Why did the Governor kill Martinez ? I don't get it. Martinez took him and his new family in and even gave them a home.
