The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

So, is there any reason as to why they simply just didn't find a boat and sail across the channel instead of taking the tunnel?
At its most narrow, the English Channel is only 21 miles across. Just sailing the boat West, they would bound to reach England in a day at the most.

They were following the lead of Fallou, who promised safe passage to England, which Fiona and Angus were to provide via the channel, so they did not take any detours to find a boat.

Aside from that, I guess Codron is completely insane from the effects of the fumes? He ran off, screaming for his brother, so I guess that was his official exit from the series? I feel a better conclusion for him would have been to join Fallou's community, since he re-connected with his faith, while separating himself from the ways of / fought against Genet's group, but...oh, well.

It's a shame they felt the need to kill off virtually every other female character in this series once they knew Carol was back. I wonder if that was deliberate or not.

Teaser for Season 3:

Interesting shots, but its certainly not giving anything away. My concern is that the entire Laurent story will be placed on the back burner if he made it to America. I'd like to see at least one scene of Laurent at the Commonwealth, just to show that he's better off there (contrary to his feeling expressed in S2/E5).

I've heard that the majority of Season Three takes place in Spain, so whatever happens in England is only for a short time. The boat must be a shot of them crossing the Channel.

Will Codron return? I like that character.

That depends on the state of his mind; he ran off into the tunnels (not certain about the direction) still under the effects of the psychoactive fumes. Without a mask, his only chance would be to find his way out of the tunnel, where the effects might wear off in time. After making one of the most significant personal journeys / transformations in recent TWD TV franchise history, it would be a letdown for Codron to simply lose his mind, disappear and that's that.

Agree. Usually in the franchise when someone doesn't die they come back eventually.

My only complaint with the new shows is they kill off pretty much everyone that is new.
That's a common complaint about TWD TV franchise--that the writers will introduce new and occasionally great characters, only to kill them off to get a reaction from the legacy characters. If you check out various social media platforms, there's been a sizable outcry over Isabelle's death, with many feeling she was what Daryl needed in his life going forward. Makes me wonder if he will be written to regress in season three of his series.
