Hugh Grant in About a Boy is a total slacker because he schedules time in the day to do nothing, but I don't think it's a big cultural impact kind of movie.
 
When I first heard that Zack Snyder is writing and directing a remake of Escape From New York I just figured it was a joke.

Turns out it's real. But it is a joke. On me. Good joke. Everybody laugh. :barf:

I can only hope it ends up stalling like all the previous attempts.

I still think DOTD (also a remake, obviously) is his best film, so if this is accurate, the movie might actually be worth watching.
Except DotD was written by a competent screenwriter. EFNY is going to be penned by the man responsible for writing Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon. ;)

I really wanted to like Army of the Dead, fabulous concept and great casting but dear lord it was awful...

I've seen the Honest Trailers/Pitch Meetings for Rebel Moon 1&2 which I feel is more than enough, I have no interest in the actual films!
