Spaceballs 3: The Quest for the Missing Sequel
There can also be an all-female reboot cast spin-off kind of thing: Spaceboobs.
Later on there can be a crossover film where the Schwartz brings Spaceboobs and Spaceballs together.

I think there are a number of current actors who fall into that mould; leading man looks but more interesting in character roles. Colin Farrell, Tom Hardy, Jude Law, for example. Heath Ledger may also have become one. The jury is out on Glen Powell.I was thinking of "leading man" in the "matinee idol" sense. He's more of a character actor who sometimes plays the main character. In my mind, and to compare him to 70s actors, he's a successor to quirky guys like Nicholson and DeNiro but Hollywood keeps trying to cast him in "Redford" and "Beatty" roles where he doesn't work so well.

Hmm, he’s not really in the mould I was thinking of, as, even leaving aside the age difference, he’s not a heart-throb like most of the guys I named there (though some women find him sexy) and most of his leading men roles are quite dark. I can’t really think offhand of him in a Redford/Beatty role of the sort that @the G-man originally mentioned in connection with Jake Gyllenhaal. YMVWD.Yeah, to me Jeremy Irons perfectly fits that description. He's a great actor, but works best as a character actor rather than leading man.

Tough ask! None of the ones I can think of rank as top-tier TOS, at least not for me, but I think "The Tholian Web" is probably the best of the bunch. I like the tension Kirk's situation creates between Spock and McCoy.
Trek being notoriously better at setting up a cliffhanger than at wrapping one up -- how about a really good cliffhanger resolution?
Terry Matalas is remaking Enemy Mine. See, this is what you are supposed to do, you remake bad movies and try to turn them into good movies.
And a whole lot of other Trek episodes. Most notably Dawn from Enterprise, which even had an alien which resembled Enemy Mine's.I suppose it also inspired the Patrick Stewart-Paul Winfield TNG episode.
[/USER]It looks like they are going to remake An Officer and a Gentleman.
Everybody Hates Chris is coming back as an animated series on Comedy Central.
