The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Isn't there a new Escape From New York remake being worked now?

They can probably save money in VFX by actually filming there. From what I've seen & heard, there are huge swaths of the city that look like post-apocalyptic DMZ's now.

Given the success if the Fallout show, I'm only surprised it took this long for Mad Max to be turned into a TV show.

We’ve seen post-apocalyptic and disaster movies set in New York. Part of the appeal of the Max movies (for me anyway) is that it’s relatively novel to see Oz as a backdrop.

I do see that. What I do like about the New York setting though is how narrow the streets are in New York. The road fighting taking place in such a enclosed space I think would be interesting. I can image cars and vehicles crashing into buildings. Scummy people standing in windows shooting at the passing by vehicles. Maybe something through the Lincoln Tunnel. Or even in the subways.

Matt Damon is open to returning to Bourne. Even though his memory is back, he forgot one key piece of his past.... again! It was the time he ordered a burger, hold the tomato, and they gave him tomato anyway. Who can they get this time to be the old generic white guy CIA boss who is hiding something?

John Malkovich.

Blumhouse plans to film a Dead by Daylight movie in 2027.

On the heels of Backrooms, the viral short Open Door is being adapted for film.

After the success of Heated Rivalry and Off Campus, Netflix will try to turn the novel Icebreaker into a series. So if you have any ideas for a young adult hockey-centered romance plot, now's the time to strike.

Jason Bourne has more holes in his memory than swiss cheese

The BBC and Japan’s Kadokawa Corporation are teaming up to make a live action Kiki's Delivery Service.

Maybe it can be about how Doordash, Uber Eats and Grub Hub have cut into her business and what she has to do in order to adapt.
