Deadline| 'A Fistful Of Dollars' TV Series In Development At Mark Gordon Pictures
Despite the headline, it's really another remake of Yojimbo, this time in a contemporary setting. What's bothering me is, it's a series. How do you stretch that concept into a series without demystifying the lead character?
The movie is an American classic but there is so much more material there for a series to expand on. I hope it will turn out to be a decent companion piece to From The Earth To The Moon.Disney + will debut "The Right Stuff" tv series in October. This one sneaked under my radar. Caught the trailer for it yesterday. I love the movie (though it is WAY long), but I'd be interested to see what they do with it here. Not sure the series can beat the movie cast (which was perfect, IMHO), but we'll see.

The Addams Family sequel series in the works from Tim Burton - https://tvline.com/2020/10/22/the-addams-family-reboot-tv-series-tim-burton/
If he tries to cast Johnny Depp as Gomez and Helena Bonham-Carter as Morticia, I'm gonna shoot the TV.
Smokey and the Bandit is being developed into a TV series.
There were three movies with Burt Reynolds, the third one he was barely in. There were also four made-for-TV movies under the "Action Pack" syndicated banner starring Brian Bloom.
But that actually is perfect casting. Jack Black as Uncle Fester. Shaq( former NBA star) as Lurch. Carol Kane as Grandma. Not sure about kid actors.
My idea is would do a time jump were we see the old family connect with the kids families all grown up and you bring back Christine Ricci and give her a wacky family as well that is kind of the same. She's married to a Aubrey Plaza weirdo character. Former NBA star Yao Ming is their lurch type of person. Samuel Jackson as a crazy Grandpa. Mellisa McCarthy as the Aunt Fester type. Also once again kid actors I don't know.

Given Oscar Isaac's experience with Star Wars, I'd expect him to stay a galaxy far, far away from anything that smacks remotely of franchise work, at least where he'd be expected to show his face, not just lend his voice. The voice cast from the recent animated movie would also work as live-action but Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron are probably too big for tv.
